We’re pleased to join Metropolitan Mayors Caucus to announce a third cohort of communities who will participate in the EV Readiness Program, a unique initiative designed to support local governments of northern Illinois as they prepare to meet growing demand of #EVs! With our commitment, the EV Readiness Program will help 20 communities prepare policy and take steps so that more residents and businesses can access EVs and related infrastructure safely and equitably. "Working alongside our partners at the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus, ComEd is committed to expanding access to EVs and charging for our communities across northern Illinois,” said Louie Binswanger, our senior vice president of Governmental, Regulatory and External Affairs. “Training through the EV Readiness Program is essential for helping communities navigate the policies and infrastructure planning needed to ramp up EV adoption safely and equitably. Congratulations to the newest cohort, who will help more residents in their communities unlock the myriad benefits of EVs – from reducing harmful pollution in our communities to creating cost savings benefits for those driving them.” This is just one example of how ComEd is helping spur widespread and its related environmental benefits – and will help our community partners advance closer to the state’s goal of adding 1 million EVs on the road by 2030. Celebrating Partnership Milestones in Methane Emissions Reduction! We’re excited to share that one of our partners, Radical Combustion Technologies, LLC, has received an award notification from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for their groundbreaking work in the Methane Emissions Reduction Program. Their innovative emissions control solution addresses 2-stroke Lean Burn reciprocating engines used in natural gas transmission pipelines. TELLUS is honored to play a key role in this project by leading the community benefit programs in Genesee, PA; Mercer, PA; and Victoria, TX. This includes: • Attending community meetings to share insights on air quality monitoring and gather local input. • Collaborating with community organizations to identify the best locations for air quality monitors, including schools and childcare centers. • Working closely with state environmental agencies in Pennsylvania and Texas to integrate existing efforts and provide meaningful feedback. • Deploying air monitoring equipment in each community to enhance public access to air quality data. This partnership aligns with our mission to make air quality monitoring more accessible to communities with actionable data. Learn more about this program here: https://lnkd.in/gGGi46qV We’re excited to collaborate with RCT and the local communities to make a lasting impact. Stay tuned for updates as we begin work in these regions! #AirQuality #EnvironmentalJustice #MethaneReduction #CleanAir

https://buff.ly/3Wbczvg Great case study - Maryland's plan for EV infrastructure involves installing numerous charging stations in strategic locations, ensuring accessibility for both urban and rural residents. This expansion is crucial as it addresses one of the major concerns of potential EV buyers—range anxiety, or the fear of running out of power without a nearby charging point. By mitigating this issue, Maryland hopes to encourage more people to consider EVs as a viable option for their transportation needs. In addition to federal funding, the state is also collaborating with private companies and local governments to maximize the efficiency and reach of the charging network. This proactive approach will ensure that EV drivers in Maryland have ample charging opportunities and a more seamless EV ownership experience. #EVDX #EV #ElectricTransportation #CustomerExperience

One of our goals at Invest in Our Future is to take advantage of the broad range of people and communities that federal clean energy investments will impact to assemble the broadest possible coalitions in support. Along with climate advocates, we want to rally people energized by the possibility of broadening their community’s tax base, building greater equity into the local economy, creating new, good-paying jobs, and improving the health of our kids. You can see this approach taking shape in Wisconsin, where several of our grantees are bringing groups together to create a clean energy future for the state. Forward Together Wisconsin (FTW) is enlisting labor unions, teachers and school administrators, colleges and universities, community-based organizations, and environmental advocates in their wide-reaching effort to build public support for clean energy investments—particularly in rural, tribal, and working-class communities, along with communities of color. FTW has also partnered with Wisconsin Conservation Voters to go directly to Wisconsinites—knocking tens of thousands of doors to deliver raise awareness on clean energy programs and incentives and cultivate new evangelists for the cause. Elsewhere in the state, the folks at the Rural Climate Partnership are studying the messages and messengers that can rally Wisconsin’s rural residents to embrace, and even demand, new clean energy projects. And Elevate Energy is collaborating with community-based organizations, affordable housing developers, and contractors to identify homes in lower-income communities, indigenous communities, and communities of color that would benefit from retrofits and energy upgrades. Across Wisconsin, our grantees have taken on an effort to engage virtually every constituency that these investments could touch, and to rally them around the cause of implementation. We’ll be watching closely to see how this approach works—and how we can replicate it nationwide.
