2 things I learned today from playing around with the amazing character reference (cref) feature in Midjourney. 1. I need to improve the accuracy and detail of my prompts. With enough practice and the right prompt, the images that Midjourney can generate are outstanding. 2. I need to update my LinkedIn profile picture. The prompt for this particular series of images was very simple: /Imagine "a man flying through the air like Superman, photorealistic, film noir style --cref <The URL location of the uploaded image>"

"Avenge Me" is a 3-screen video work that reinterprets a powerful moment from the 1984 film *Red Dawn*. Using a clip of Harry Dean Stanton's character, who is held in a Soviet prison camp and shares a final, heart-wrenching meeting with his sons through a chain-link fence, the work taps into themes of loss and emotional finality. The scene's tension is magnified through three looping videos, accompanied by a carefully layered soundscape that blends Stanton’s voice with the raw, mechanical hum of industrial field recordings. Giving respect where respect is due. The art and storytelling styles from Genndy Tartakovsky's work over the years has been a huge inspiration for our 2D animated short film, 'What Lies at Dawn'. For example, the sound design from 'Star Wars: Clone Wars', the art direction from 'Samurai Jack', and the line work from 'Primal' all point towards the fact that intentionality and craftsmanship were integral parts of the process.
