It's end of year so we all know what that means.... More time out of office! Preparing to be out of the office during the holidays involves planning ahead to ensure your work is covered and everything runs smoothly in your absence. 👇 Here are some tips to help you get ready: 👇 📧Set an Out-of-Office Email: Let people know when you’ll be away, provide alternate contacts, and set expectations for your response time and return to the office. Updating your Slack status accordingly with the same detailed message would be a great idea too! 🗣️Notify Your Team: Inform colleagues and stakeholders about your absence and delegate tasks or provide clear instructions. Additionally, in the case of an emergency, be sure to identify someone to handle urgent matters in your absence and ensure important files are accessible. 🔺Prioritize Tasks: Finish or delegate critical work before you leave and update project management tools. Also ensure upcoming deadlines are covered and communicate who will handle them. 📎Finish Admin Tasks: Complete any remaining paperwork or approvals and tidy up your workspace. Leaving a clean and organized workspace is crucial to prevent feeling overwhelmed when you return! 😁Enjoy Your Time Off: Disconnect fully and enjoy a stress-free holiday! 🙌 By preparing in advance, you can ensure that your absence doesn’t disrupt the workflow and that you come back to a well-organized environment. Getting away for some well-earned rest is a classic post we all see on LinkedIn. But it can be a real struggle to get back into the rhythm of work once you are back from sipping Margaritas in the sunshine. I'll admit I've had more productive weeks than this week... Here are a few things I will look to implement next time to have a more productive post-holiday week... 🎯 Get together a to-do list before I go away. Things may change during the week you go away, but having a list of things ready to go will remind you of what you were working on before leaving and let you hit the ground running. 🎯 Tie up any loose ends. There's nothing worse than being thrown straight into the middle of urgent project work, so make sure you have any big jobs tied off before you travel. This isn't always possible of course, but I will make a concerted effort to make sure I do this before I go away next. 🎯 Book a WFH day for your first day back. This isn't always possible without some flexibility in the workspace, but going from beers on the beach to the office within 24 hours isn't much fun. Ease yourself back into the week with a day working from home, meaning fewer office distractions and an opportunity to get that dreaded holiday clothes wash done.

The holidays are over, and your team is back... or are they? 🤔 Let’s call it what it is: The Post-Holiday Productivity Hangover is REAL. Studies show employees waste 2-3 days just reorienting themselves after time off. Here’s a spicy thought for this #SpicyMonday🌶️🔥: 💥 Your #MSP is losing 3 DAYS of productivity every time your team takes a holiday—and that’s (probably) on YOU. A study by Accountemps found that 44% of professionals experience a productivity dip after vacation, often taking up to 3 days to fully get back on track. So, let’s think about it: 📬 Is your team drowning in email purgatory instead of smashing SLAs? ❓ Are your priorities so fuzzy that reactive work has become the default? ✈️ Are vacations quietly sabotaging your team's momentum instead of fueling it? 🔥 MSPs are built on efficiency, but let’s be real—too many teams spend more time catching up than delivering value after a break. So here’s the question that’ll spark the debate: 👉 Is this a leadership problem, a team issue, or just the way MSPs are wired? What’s YOUR strategy for tackling the post-holiday slump? Let’s hear it! Drop your thoughts below. 👇 -------------------------------------------------- Experiencing the same problems with your team's training? 💡If your team feels lost after time off, Empath has Scheduled Learning and Progress Tracking to help you and your team get back on track--regardless of how many vacations you take. #Empath

Workcation on the horizon? We find it’s always best to try and work a little less than you usually would when you’re on a working holiday. After all, you’ve spent the money and time getting to your destination, so it would be a real shame to live in your work bubble the whole time, not giving yourself a chance to experience it. Consider taking a long weekend, with a Friday or Monday tacked on, or decide to only work in the mornings or afternoons, depending on when you’re most productive. Check out the blog for more tips on organising great working holidays. https://lnkd.in/eJr6_YZV #LSPexpert 🔔 Psst... The routine for returning back to the office after a holiday break: - Become disoriented on what day it is - Talk about what you did (or didn't do) on holiday break - Think every day is Friday until it actually is Friday - Slowly transition from holiday mode to work mode... with lots of coffee - Start planning your next break #BackToWork #HolidayBreak #SimpleLife

I think we glorify working from home a lot. Mostly the fact that we can work from a beach, an island, or even our cozy beds 😌 We think it's so good because we stay with our family and have everything at our fingertips Sure, you have all the comforts - your favorite mug, the perfect chair, snacks within reach. But after weeks of the same four walls, even these comforts feel confining 🥲 The convenience of rolling out of bed to your desk becomes a curse when you realize you haven't felt fresh air on your face in days 🥹 💣 The reality is that this flexibility has a dark side. You don't have boundaries between weekdays and weekends. You can't just close shop at 8 and say, "I'll handle this tomorrow." Some workdays stretch from 8 am to midnight. Sometimes you even have to take calls on Sunday. Last week, I had a tiny breakdown because I hadn't gone out in a month 🪫 Weekends were taken in by meetings in bed. And falling asleep on my desk. 📌 We forget how much we need human connection. No more water cooler chats or lunch with colleagues. At home, you might find yourself craving simple conversations. ➡️ So when people crave to work from home - I don't think they are just looking for freedom from their cubicles. I think they look for freedom from the monotonous routine. After all, It doesn't matter if you're at home or in an office - feeling stuck is feeling stuck. 📌 What do you think? Have you experienced this too? P.S: Ofc, working from home has its perks, but as a 24-year-old staying home, this is how I recently felt :) #workfromhome #wfh #remotework #socialmeidamanager #smm #manager #stuck
