In a monumental achievement, India has successfully laid the foundation for the 'International Big Cat Alliance,' uniting all big cat range countries. India's commitment to big cat conservation has flourished in recent decades, with Project Tiger in 1973 serving as the bedrock for modern conservation efforts. The Tiger Census, initiated in 2006, not only bolstered tiger monitoring but also played a pivotal role in evaluating the status of co-predators, prey, and habitats nationwide. Notably, India holds the Guinness World Record for the largest camera trapping exercise, conducted under the 'All India Tiger Estimation.' Amidst a tapestry of diverse cultures, religions, languages, political agendas, and a rapidly growing economy, India's conservation efforts stand out as remarkable. Protecting the biodiversity of over 92,000 species is an undeniable testament to India's commitment and commendable efforts.
