June marks the start of Pride Month and Pride is more than just a celebration—it's a call to action for advancing LGBTQ+ equality! Here’s a reminder of some action Leaders can take to support LGBTQ+ colleagues: 🌈 Sponsorship and Reverse Mentoring Career progression often hinges on sponsorship. Unfortunately, LGBTQ+ employees, especially trans individuals, are less likely to have sponsors/mentors. So seek out high-potential LGBTQ+ talent and leverage your influence to support their success. In turn, you will gain fresh perspectives and grow knowledge about challenges facing LGBTQ+ colleagues. 🌈 Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) Set up or join your company's LGBTQ+ ERG and see how you can help. Whether as an Executive Sponsor or an active ally, your involvement can drive meaningful change and provide a safe space for important discussions and celebrations. We will be proudly sharing what our Coalition Strategic Partners and Members are doing throughout the month to learn, celebrate and champion inclusivity in their working environment. Happy Pride! #BuiltOnBetter #Pride #LGBTQ+ #Equality #Allyship #DiversityAndInclusion

Rainbow Wash or Real Change? We've seen a surge in companies proudly displaying rainbow flags and hiring LGBTQ+ employees. But is this just a superficial show of support, or a genuine commitment to equality? Let's cut through the rainbow-colored façade. True LGBTQ+ inclusivity isn't just about having a few queer faces in your boardroom. It's about creating a workplace where everyone feels safe, respected, and valued, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Are your company's policies truly inclusive? Do you have employee resource groups that actually empower LGBTQ+ employees? Are you actively fighting for LGBTQ+ rights in your community? It's time to stop applauding tokenism and demand real, meaningful change. Let's call out companies that claim to be allies but fall short. #LGBTQ+ #Inclusion #Diversity #CorporateSocialResponsibility

Celebrating Pride: Authenticity and Freedom to Be Pride month is a time to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and its ongoing fight for equality. But even in 2024, many countries and corporations haven't embraced LGBTQ+ rights. This can lead to a heartbreaking reality: LGBTQ+ people feeling they have to choose between hiding their true selves and living authentically. The truth is, everyone benefits from a world where self-expression is encouraged. Here's why: * Diversity strengthens us all. A diverse workforce with a variety of perspectives leads to better decision-making and innovation. * Authenticity leads to well-being. When LGBTQ+ employees can be their true selves at work, they're happier, more fulfilled, and more productive. * Inclusion is good for business. Studies show that companies that embrace LGBTQ+ inclusion outperform their peers. Pride month is a chance to break down barriers and celebrate the beauty of diversity. Let's create a world where everyone feels safe to be themselves. #pridemonth #lgbtq #aweness #inclusioniselemental #🏳️🌈 #happypridemonth

As we approach Pride month (June), I'm thinking about pride as it is (or should be) represented in Global organizations. Here are some ideas... Policies: Many organizations are reinforcing their commitment to LGBTQ+ rights by implementing and highlighting inclusive policies that ensure a safe and supportive workplace for all employees. Awareness: Companies are using their platforms to raise awareness and visibility for LGBTQ+ issues. This includes social media campaigns, educational webinars, and featuring stories from LGBTQ+ employees. Employee Resource Groups (ERGs): Establishing and empowering LGBTQ+ employee resource groups to foster community, provide support, and drive initiatives that promote inclusivity. Training and Education: Offering diversity and inclusion training programs to educate employees on LGBTQ+ issues, creating a more informed and supportive workforce. Events: Hosting events such as Pride Month kickoffs, panel discussions, and virtual pride parades to celebrate the contributions and achievements of the LGBTQ+ community. Pride is significant to those of us who fought hard, and continue to fight, for equality, fairness, and understanding in the workplace. #PrideMonth #Inclusion #Diversity #LGBTQ #GlobalOrganizations #WorkplaceEquality #AlgoSecTogether #GrowYourself

As we celebrate Pride Month 2024, this video always makes me smile. The pure JOY and PRIDE I feel as a member of the LGBTQ+ community is clear, and the song carries such a critical message! As an OUT LGBTQ+ CEO/Founder, I understand the importance of visibility for LGBTQ+ employees and the community as a whole. Sadly, the current political landscape in the United States is filled with fear and hate, with numerous anti-LGBTQ+ laws being passed in most states. The potential rollback of existing LGBTQ+ protections is concerning, especially with the continuous discriminatory laws targeting transgender individuals, leading to increased violence and hate crimes. It's crucial for companies and leaders like me to use our voices to protect LGBTQ+ employees and advocate for equality. Providing a safe and supportive environment for all employees to thrive and be their authentic selves is essential. Having healthcare benefits that offer access to gender-affirming care and LGBTQ+ affirming policies will make a positive impact on workplace inclusivity. What have you done today to make yourself PROUD? Every voice matters—let's use ours to fight for equality and ensure every member of the LGBTQ+ community can live proudly and safely, feeling included and valued at work. #pridemonth2024 #equality #lgbtqia #healthcareequity #transrightsarehumanrights #lgbtqrights

When it comes LGBTQ+ allyship, the data paints a clear picture. Consumers expect business leaders to step up, mean what they say, and fight for the lives and livelihoods of LGBTQ+ people. "The rising tide of support for LGBTQ rights (eight in 10 Americans support nondiscrimination protections for LGBTQ people), coupled with changing expectations of what corporate citizenship means, translates into an expectation that corporations will live out their stated allyship to the LGBTQ community." To help businesses — of all shapes, sizes, and disciplines — close the gap between authentic allyship and surface-level solidarity, the Human Rights Campaign has launched its inaugural corporate citizenship report, "The LGBTQ+ Corporate Citizen: A Framework for Emerging Best Practices in Allyship." It's a first-of-its-kind report that goes beyond foundational workplace inclusion, urging companies to examine their operations, policies, and practices through an action-focused lens. 1. Book an LGBTQ+ speaker (or internal staff member) to help empower and educate your colleagues. 2. Host an inclusion workshop such as a hands-on training session that teaches attendees how to facilitate LGBTQ+ equality. 3. Review and evaluate your discrimination and diversity policy to ensure it adequately protects your LGBTQ+ colleagues. 4. Help formulate an LGBTQ+ group within your organisation (if one doesn’t exist already), so the community has an equal voice about concerns and ideas within the workplace. 5. Grab some rainbow gear, get a little wild, and join in the celebrations by decorating your office (and yourself). #LGBTQ+ #PrideMonth #DEI #inclusivity #diversity #equality #Pride #healthandwellbeing #wellbeingstrategy #wellbeing #corporatehealth #corporatewellbeing #selfcare #employeewellbeing #wellnessatwork #linkedinwellness #wellness #employeeengagement #employeeexperience #employeewellness #corporatewellness #corporatewellnessprogram

Supporting the LGBTQ+ community as an employer involves implementing policies and practices that promote inclusivity, respect, and equality 🏳️🌈 According to Stonewall.org: One in five LGBTQ+ people were the target of negative comments at work. Over a third of LGBTQ+ people feel they need to hide who they are at work. One in five feel that being LGBTQ+ limits their job opportunities. Has your company celebrated Pride this month? Make your employees aware of how your business interacts with and supports the LGBTQ+ community 🙌 #hr #humanresources #hrtips #hradvice #hrtricks #humanresourcestips #managingyourbusiness #employeerights #employeeadvice #manageradvice #businessowner #smallbusinessowner #pride #pridemonth #celebratepride #prideatwork #lgbtq
