Equity Investment Opportunity for Minority Shares in a 50MW GD ZERO Greenfield Wind Park Helles Solar Capital is seeking to raise at least $21.6 million in equity to finance the construction and operation of 13 new GD ZERO wind parks, with a total installed capacity of 53 MW. The projected internal rates of return exceed 15% per year for investors. The total investment (CAPEX) is $57.24 million. Investment firm Northleaf Capital Partners has sold the 494MWp Mula solar project in Spain to China Three Gorges Corporation, the state-owned Chinese power company.

These investments, which span various sectors, are projected to fuel growth across the country. Renewable energy opportunities Octopus Energy has committed to investing £2 billion in renewable energy projects, including four new solar farms across the UK. These solar farms will power up to 80,000 homes and generate business for smaller suppliers and contractors in the construction, maintenance, and energy sectors. The KGAL ESPF 5 fund, managed by KGAL GmbH & Co. KG (KGAL), will invest in two additional solar parks in Germany. The 40 MW Calvörde West and 20 MW Grauingen solar parks near Magdeburg complement the 60 MW Calvörde Ost solar park, which was acquired at the start of 2023 and will soon come online. The entire Calvörde cluster will have a total capacity of 120 MW and KGAL has secured ‘attractive’ long-term feed-in tariffs for the majority of the capacity. “Thanks to its very good positioning at the upper end of the price range in the latest EEG auctions, the entire Calvörde cluster has guaranteed attractive cash flows for the next 20 years,” said Carsten Haubner, CFA, Portfolio Manager at KGAL. The Calvörde West and Grauingen solar parks are slated to come online in autumn 2025. KGAL noted that the Calvörde Ost solar park still has free generation capacity that is not covered by the EEG auction and the company will shortly participate in the Federal Network Agency’s innovation tender for utility-scale solar power plants with battery storage. To date, the KGAL ESPF 5 fund has invested in nine solar, wind and battery storage projects and three development platforms. The investments cover six European countries and have a total capacity of 1.1 GW, while the development pipeline totals a further 2 GW. “Shortly before the final closing of our impact fund, 93% of the €351 million equity has been allocated,” stated Jonathan May, Head of Institutional Business International at KGAL. “At the same time, the first distributions are already flowing back to investors, with an attractive double-digit target return (net IRR) for the portfolio.” KGAL ESPF 5 will reach a final close in October 2024. #cleanenergy

Enfinity Global has taken in €165 million in financing to develop three utility-scale solar power plants in Italy’s Lazio region with a total capacity of 147 MW. The solar projects are slated to become operational by 2026 and are supported by long-term PPAs with a leading international technology provider. The financing was arranged through a club deal, with ING and Rabobank acting as lenders and mandated lead arrangers. The package includes €114 million in non-recourse senior debt and €51 million allocated for VAT financing and letters of credit for PPAs, photovoltaic modules, and decommissioning. The portfolio is expected to offset 79,500 tons of carbon emissions per annum, equivalent to removing over 62,000 vehicles from Italian roads each year. “We are grateful to ING and Rabobank for their steadfast support in advancing our portfolio in Italy,” said Carlos Domenech, CEO of Enfinity Global. NextEnergy Capital secures PPA for UK's 75MW Welsh PV project #UnitedKingdom #Tenders #Bidding #Contractaward #Bidding #Procurement #NextEnergy Capital subsidiary #NextPower #UK ESG (#NPUK ESG) has signed one of the UK’s largest #Solar sleeved #PPA to date, to offtake #Energy from a 75MW Welsh solar farm. The sleeved PPA is a 20-year inflation-linked contracted revenue agreement that covers 90% of the electricity and any associated #Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin certificates (REGOs) generated by Llanwern Solar Farm. The #Project, remains the largest solar farm constructed and energised in the UK to date, covering 260 acres, NextEnergy said. The sleeved PPA is a four-way physical #Contract that involves NPUK ESG selling power to #Anglian Water Services (AWS) with the involvement of both EDF in the UK, and SSE. The agreement works through EDF taking the power generated by Llanwern, which is then balanced, firmed, and converted, changing the intermittent generation into baseload blocks of power which is then sleeved to AWS via their energy supplier, SSE. This structure allows the renewable generated solar profile to then reliably match the energy profile that is required by AWS, helping them towards their decarbonisation targets, NextEnergy said. NPUK ESG is a private UK solar fund that focuses on acquiring utility-scale solar and battery storage (#BESS) assets at the ready-to-build stage, constructing them through energisation in order to build a large operating portfolio of solar and BESS assets. Once the assets are operational, NPUK monetises the power generated through a contracted strategy enabling a high degree of predictability and visibility on the Fund’s cash yield.
