🌍 Enhancing Sustainability Reporting with ESRS Set 1 XBRL Taxonomy and Seahorse 🌍 The EFRAG has developed the ESRS Set 1 XBRL Taxonomy, a powerful tool for the digital tagging of sustainability reports in a machine-readable format, aligning with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). This taxonomy ensures that the digital format accurately reflects the human-readable ESRS Set 1 standards. Key features include: * Concepts, labels, references, presentation and definition linkbases, and validation rules. * Detailed guidelines for Minimum Disclosure Requirements (MDR), using typed dimensions to relate Impacts, Risks, and Opportunities (IRO) to Policies, Targets, and Actions. * Extensible Enumerations (EE) for relating targets and metrics. * A reporting scope dimension, including Milestone and target years members, for comprehensive reporting. These new taxonomy characteristics present filing and tagging challenges for companies still getting familiar with ESEF reporting, especially in tagging notes and disclosures. Tools like Seahorse are here to help manage these challenges. While some AI capabilities for XBRL tagging can assist, they won't solve all issues, particularly with typed dimensions and extensible enumerations. We are committed to providing our clients and partners with user-friendly AI solutions that simplify these new challenges. Our goal is to take the burden away from time-intensive manual tasks and save you time. Materiality assessments being aligned with the ESRS are painstaking for many companies. 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐒𝐑𝐃 - 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐲 𝐀𝐈 (Part 1/8) The materiality assessment is the first step in the ESG reporting journey - and many companies get stuck in the inefficiencies of an ad-hoc process. At Equintel, we spent the last months developing an AI-driven methodology for materiality assessments in accordance with the CSRD regulation. We believe that AI can not only help companies comply with new reporting requirements, but also empower them on a path to sustainability action that is aligned with their business and profitability goals. For materiality assessments, AI delivers the following benefits over a manual, ad-hoc approach: - AI provides a tremendous efficiency advantage, doing the “groundwork” of collecting, processing, and structuring data. Humans can now focus on advanced tasks like the engagement with strategic stakeholders and communities that require an individual approach. - Stakeholder opinions and attitudes are already out there in the Web, spread across various data sources like social media, finance press, publications by NGOs, etc. By leveraging this data in an automated way, you not only increase the coverage and relevance of the selected topics, but also reduce the tedious back-and-forth that comes with chasing your stakeholders for data. - Sustainability standards and regulations are written in a generic and distant style, making it difficult for companies to adapt them to their unique business situation. Generative AI has the power to interpret regulations in the context of your company, linking abstract topics to the themes that your company is concerned with in real life, and recommending how you can address them. With advances in data use and generative AI across the public sector, is it time to create leaner, fitter data governance and data management processes? That’s certainly the argument in this new article discussing the impact of #GenAI on the way in which government agencies manage their data. That’s because success with Gen AI rests on high-quality data that’s timely, well-managed and available securely to all parties who need it. The trouble with this is that, in too many cases, data isn’t there yet. This is a problem. Why? Because unless data errors, inconsistencies, and biases are systematically being taken care of, Gen AI is at risk of producing “insights” that should never see the light of day, much less be used for decision making and policy setting. So, as the number of public sector organizations using AI gradually grows, data quality and governance need to become a strategic issue that all agencies must get to grips with from the top down. What steps should #chiefdataofficers and other leaders take to get their data fit for an AI-rich world? Are there certain use cases that can kick start the journey and deliver a better #citizenexperience? To find out more and get answers to these questions, read the article: https://lnkd.in/dszkw9RS
