Which design style speaks to you the most? 🌟 Eclectic: Why choose? Eclectic design mixes patterns, textures, and colors from a variety of design periods to create a one-of-a-kind space that reflects your personality. Considered one of the hardest design aesthetics to execute well. Mid-Century Modern: Born in the 1950's, this clean lined style mixes curves and simple shapes together in a way that still resonates with us today. With a focus on natural materials and low profiles it works well in many homes today. Minimalist: Clean, simple, and clutter-free. Minimalist design embraces the 'less is more' philosophy, focusing on the quality of materials and simple palettes. Can be deceptively expensive, as each material is on full display so everything must be precisely chosen. Traditional: Don't let the name fool you. Traditional doesn't have to feel fussy or outdated. With today's fresh palettes and current trend toward layering patterns and timeless furniture is the perfect fit to create spaces that feel welcoming and familiar. The little details and embellishments in this design category are what make it great! A beautiful South African home with breathtaking ocean views. The existing deck, while spacious, lacked a statement piece to complement the home's natural textures. And, of course, we knew the perfect statement piece would come from a South African design icon. That's when we brought in Haldane Martin, a renowned furniture designer known for his stunning outdoor collections. Haldane himself even stopped by to see how his very first daybed worked within the space. 😍 For us, the key to success was achieving a harmonious balance. The interior spaces showcased rich textures of granite and rock, creating a natural, earthy feel. We wanted the exterior to echo this theme while introducing pops of colour for a bold statement. Furniture on such a large deck can make spaces feel even bigger and less intimate. The daybed's striking colour acts as a visual boundary, defining zones and creating a sense of cosy connection on the expansive deck. The result? A stunning outdoor space that seamlessly blends functionality with bold design, perfectly complementing the home's unique character and breathtaking ocean views. Often viewed as just an industrial material, it’s not only strong and durable; it also adds a unique, raw aesthetic that stands out in any space. We love how versatile concrete is! Properly proportioned elements create a sense of cohesion, preventing any single piece from overpowering the rest. By maintaining appropriate proportions between furniture, artwork, and similar other features, one can guide the eye smoothly throughout the room, avoiding distractions or feelings of imbalance. Proportion also contributes to functionality, ensuring that furniture and decor fit within the available space while allowing for ease of movement. Halfway through 2024, we're seeing an abundance of metallics popping up in interior and product design at the forefront of material trends, a celebration of innovation, futurism and boldness in breaking the mold, with metal becoming the go-to choice for those looking to make a statement and welcome to the age of metal once again. When using metal indoors, we can never forget its coolness. Hence, a balance of warmth and coolness needs to be achieved through a combination of colors and materials, making it a more suitable material for interiors. Matching with textiles is undoubtedly the combination that brings the most warmth, the softness of textiles can easily neutralize the coldness of metal, such design is often seen in the recent design of seating furniture, at the same time, the rich color choices of textiles also make this kind of matching exudes a vintage, elegant and high-class feeling, such as Burgundy red, deep blue and purple, peacock green, vintage yellow, or brighter green, are all good Matching options. #furniture #furnituredesign #interior #design #homedesign
