King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust recently installed our charging shelves in their paediatric intensive care unit and parent rooms. Creating ‘maximum impact’ was the design brief. We were delighted to be set the challenge of featuring the King's College Hospital Charity strapline on each side of the Crable charging shelf along with their logo and QR code to the front. The QR code links directly to the central page for donations. Get in touch if your hospital waiting areas need to provide a free, fast charge for people…and you are looking to encourage donations to your chosen charity! As with most NHS Trusts a white (very light grey) Crable was the colour of choice. Each charging shelf featuring 15W ‘fast charge’ wireless chargers, USB ports and plug sockets - providing charging for up to eight appliances simultaneously. #nhs #wirelesscharging #nhsengland #chargingstations #charginghubs #chargingsolutions #mobilecharging

Comic Relief has raised more than £1.6 billion over the years. A magnificent achievement for good causes. Yet still we have child poverty, cost of living crisis, energy cost crises, and many public services struggling to meet demand for their services. NHS Charities collectively raise millions for that great cause. Yet still we have 7.5 million on NHS waiting lists, queues for a NHS dentist, and waiting times for GP appointments, and treatments. Clearly, despite the great efforts by so many people, charity alone is not the answer. As a nation, we need a greater commitment from central government, to public services and our health services. Charity alone is not enough.

This June, we're bringing back our #HealthyCities steps challenge! A 30-day challenge, designed to get our people moving and improve their health, whilst raising money for charity. Our goal is to each walk 6,000 steps - or equivalent wheelchair pushes - every day to release funds for Bupa's Green Community grants, which help local schools and charities make their spaces greener and cleaner. The more we move, the more money we'll release! Holly, our Health and Wellbeing Partner, said: "The Healthy Cities 30-day steps challenge has such a positive impact because getting out and getting our daily steps in is good for our physical and mental health. It's good to know that you can complete a challenge, and it's a meaningful activity to participate in because you know you're doing good!" Stay tuned for updates on how our teams are getting on throughout the month 👏 #BupaDentalCare #Dentistry #DentalCare #HealthyCities #BupaHealthyCities #HealthAndWellbeing #LoveWorkingHere

50 years of Ronald McDonald House Charities mission impact has continuously pointed us back to one thing: the importance of family-centered care. From day one, RMHC believed in healthcare that is designed to respect the important role families have in restoring and maintaining the health of their children. This belief has been fundamental to the growth of RMHC. Over the past five decades, we have: 🏠Opened 1,000+ programs that meet the local needs of their communities and the families they serve 👪Enabled family-centered care for millions of families through 255+ Chapters across 62 countries and regions 💙Strengthened and supported 2.3 million families in 2023 alone 🏥Hosted over 30 family-centered care conferences held by RMHC Chapters across the world, including Ukraine, Netherlands, Curacao, and Romania. Our global program growth reflects our unwavering commitment to the child’s healthcare journey – before, during and after care. Whether it’s providing a warm meal after a long day at the hospital or educating families on early diagnosis programs, RMHC offers more than just a place to stay. As we celebrate 50 years of mission delivery, I’m eager to see what the future holds for us. I have no doubt that over the next 50 years, RMHC will continue to change and lead in the family-centered care space as we continue to innovate and adapt to meet families’ evolving needs. #RMHC50

Large hospital systems are mostly "non-profit" because they are supposed to provide community benefit and charity care. At one point in time they really may have been doing those things, but things are quite different today. Hospitals today are buying up real estate almost faster than anyone else. When they buy this real estate, they don't have to pay property taxes like everyone else, which directly takes money directly away from the local and state governments. What's more, these "non-profit" hospital systems are bankrupting the very people in the community that they are supposed to be benefiting. Charity care is not sending someone who can't pay to collections. If they want to send a patient to collections for not paying then fine, but they should also pay their taxes. Hospitals systems are large for profit corporations masquerading as non-profits. Best of both worlds for them I guess. Worst of both worlds for everyone else. #hospitals #healthcare #medicine

Nursing should include weekly teaching and journal clubs that involve all staff members, regardless of their position, as well as other professionals who are part of the team. These sessions should be one hour long and held as protected time. Ideally, an additional 30 minutes should be provided for reading and reflection. After that, the team can discuss their insights together and prepare a summary for those unable to attend. This initiative doesn't have to be expensive. Partnerships can be established with various professionals, teams, specialities, charities, community organisations, local NHS organisations, and councils to facilitate the exchange of skills and education in a mutually beneficial way. #OurNHSPeople #ClinicalLeadership #PersonalDevelopment

Is anyone working on an outline of how the #VCFSE sector should be embedded in health and care delivery? #vcse #charity #thirdsector This paper from @locality.bsky.social is the best but disintegrates as it approaches the gravity of the NHS system: https://lnkd.in/e3tGvy6p #NHSChange

Working with the health & care sector for a number of years has opened my eyes to the amazing job the people that look after our most vulnerable in society do. It is why 20 of us from Howden Health & Care will be walking 34km of the Jurassic Coast to raise awareness and much needed funds for two great charities… The Care Workers' Charity support the almost 2 million care workers in the UK, contributing to one of the largest workforces. They care for some of the most vulnerable people in our society with little recognition and often no reward. Care workers face challenges every day such as loss of income, inconsistent hours, consequences of low recruitment and retention and lack adequate resources to help care workers do their job to the best of their ability. Ickle Pickles are the smallest and sickest babies who need intensive care in neonatal units. There are over 90,000 babies born sick or prematurely in the UK every year. One in thirteen babies are born prematurely. Ickle Pickles can be a full term babies (40 weeks) requiring treatment or surgery or more likely babies born prematurely (before 37 weeks). Babies born before 27 weeks are classed as extremely premature and it is often these tiniest babies who need the most help. Since 2009, the Ickle Pickles Children's Charity has been raising money for the intensive care equipment that treats these babies and helps to keep them alive. Starting at Corfe Castle then along the Purbeck Ridge down to Lulworth Cove and on past the iconic Durdle Moor with some steep ups & downs en route. An elevation of c.1,100m apparently. To be honest I get tired just thinking about it. I am posting this to ask for your support in helping us raise as much as possible for these two worthwhile causes. If you are able to donate please use the link below. Anything you can spare would be really appreciated. #careworkers #charity #healthandcare
