As a driver, there’s resources out there to help drivers, the one I’ve found a lot of succes in is FMCSA. This avenue does work, it just might take a few months to get a response. A driver has a right to drive safe equipment and not be coerced into driving unsafe. It’s your CDL and your future, always remember that. 🚛🥇🇺🇸 Always get the behavior in writing on your ELD, in an email or in a text message and take pictures of the issue if possible. It will be helpful when they ask for supporting documents.

CSA for Drivers: The BASICs The FMCSA's CSA program targets high-risk carriers to improve safety. Using roadside inspection and crash data, it identifies the carriers most in need of intervention. Carriers receive a safety rating: Satisfactory, Conditional, or Unsatisfactory, based on compliance with regulations. Key CSA elements are the BASICs: Unsafe Driving: Violations like reckless driving. Crash Indicator: Tracks reportable crashes. HOS Compliance: Records of duty status and managing fatigue. Vehicle Maintenance: Ensures vehicles are in good condition. Controlled Substances/Alcohol: Prevents impaired driving. Hazardous Materials Compliance: Proper handling of hazardous materials. Driver Fitness: Ensures drivers are qualified and medically fit. Every violation affects your carrier's safety measure, emphasizing the importance of compliance to improve overall safety.

Be sure to check the link at the bottom of the article where carriers can "see" what their SMS profile will look like in the as-of-yet-to-be released version. "The American Transportation Research Institute named CSA scoring one of carriers’ top 10 issues of 2024, noting that carriers still have concerns about how FMCSA evaluates their safety performance. CSA scoring has been a top 10 industry concern for ATRI’s carrier respondents for eight of the last nine years. For 2024, ATRI’s respondents considered CSA scores a bigger issue than truck parking, battery-electric vehicles, driver distraction, and the diesel technician shortage." https://lnkd.in/eefW3uQr
