Another perk of a global team? International offsites 🌎 (and discovering new music - like the banger in our video below👇) Last week we flew the entire team to Brazil to work with Luiz Pinheiro and Andre Mariano in person in their home cities. After hitting Detroit last year, we decided to shake things up and head to Brazil (way more fun). Some lessons (also, for more, check out Bethany Stachenfeld's recent post) 1) You don't need to manufacture "work" or get lost in high-level strategy. We blocked our calendars, warned everyone we'd be slow to respond, and focused solely on moving the ball forward. Some days we barely worked, others we set ambitious goals and stayed up til 1am to get them done. Case in point: One day, Joey Maddox and I set out to build an entire ad strategy around competitors. In a single day, we researched and built 10 comparison pages and 10 ad groups. They're already fully completed and live on our site. The key? Maintaining a balance of urgency on some days with bonding on others. 2) The power of cultural exchange. As a US-based, English-speaking company, our Brazilian team members are usually the ones adapting to us. This time, the tables turned. Watching them get to share their culture with the rest of us was heartwarming. 3) International > Domestic 🛫 Going international made it feel like a vacation. It was unique, more memorable, and somehow felt like time off despite the intense work sessions. For founders that rarely get a chance to travel or take time off - this is a way to get the best of both worlds. Where should we head next?

In over two decades of orchestrating unforgettable team building experiences, we've learned valuable lessons that have shaped our approach and solidified our expertise in this field. Here are key insights we've gained along the way: Personalization is Key: We understand that every team is unique, which is why we tailor our events to match the specific goals, interests, and dynamics of each group. Music Transcends Boundaries: Regardless of age, background, or job title, music has a universal appeal that fosters connection and camaraderie among team members. Communication is Vital: Our events are designed to promote open communication, teamwork, and collaboration, fostering a positive and productive atmosphere that extends beyond the event itself. Lasting Memories Matter: Our goal is to create memories that resonate long after the event is over, leaving a lasting impact on individuals and teams alike. Celebrating 22 years in the corporate events industry, Rock the Stars has earned a reputation as a trusted leader in corporate team building events. Whether you're looking to boost morale, enhance communication, or simply have a rockin' good time with your team, we've got you covered.

Diversity is strength! ✨ A beautiful mix of cultures, nationalities, experiences, knowledge, skills, backgrounds, and upbringings came together during our department's Offsite in Estonia last week. This annual event (our department's 3rd Spring Offsite) is one of my favourites. We spend a week learning and bonding as a team. 🌼 Once again, it confirmed that this team is capable of anything! From creating Oscar-worthy short films to whipping up Michelin-star-worthy dinners, these folks are talented. 🌼 Diversity truly is a superpower. Be open-minded and embrace it. Joining a multicultural team can be challenging at first, but learning about your colleagues, their culture and working style is incredibly rewarding. 🌼 Spending time with your coworkers is truly important. I used to avoid these events because I didn't see the point, but I changed my perspective a few years ago and started participating. It truly makes a difference when you start building relationships with your colleagues. We're all human, after all, and fostering these connections in the workplace is amazing, not only for personal well-being but for more efficient collaboration as well! 🌼 We all completed the CliftonStrengths test and reviewed everyone's top five strengths. All 34 strengths were represented! 💪 Learning about each strength, its blind spots, and how it manifests in daily work was fascinating. Definitely recommend doing this with your team! Grateful to be part of this international and very multicultural team

Do you struggle working with an international team ? (you won't anymore if you follow the tips below) Grateful to say that I’ve worked with +20 nationalities in 2 years and I’ve learned a lot ! Here are 3 key insights from my experience : 🌍𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗜𝗻 𝗼𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗹𝗹: Working with an international team demands flexibility and adaptability. If you're not prepared to tackle cultural challenges, embrace language barriers, or adjust your schedule to accommodate global meetings (like waking up at 3am for a meeting) it may not be the right fit for you. 👉 𝗚𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲: Successful collaboration with international teams often requires going the extra mile. Be prepared to contribute more effort and time to foster effective teamwork and achieve #sharedgoals. 🕰️ 𝗕𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁: While working with an international team can be challenging, it's also incredibly rewarding. Embrace the journey, stay patient, and recognize that progress may take time. What's your take on working with an international team? Shoutout to my friend Zeineb Mansour, best times! Share your thoughts and experiences below! 🌐✨

OK so I already re-posted this... but! In the last 48 hours I've been bowled over once again by the response rate on LinkedIn! We've had over 150 applications to our vacancies here in the New Jersey office and I cannot wait for us to welcome on-board some more new starters. I know how insanely difficult and often soul destroying the job hunt can be so here's my commitment (and haven't been perfect in the past with this!). - If you apply - you WILL hear back from us whether it's good or bad news. - If you apply and request to connect with me - I WILL accept. Whether or not you join the team, I'm always keen to extend my network and happy to help introduce to the right people if I can. No such thing as a free lunch though, so here's what I ask in return. I've tried so hard to be detailed in what we're looking for in candidates for our roles, including transparent salary ranges, working pattern expectations and skills. Sadly I've had to filter out so many people that have ignored this, wasting both of our time... So that's all I ask, read my ramblings, answer the questions truthfully. If you don't feel you meet the criteria - connect with me, message me, send me your resume. No guarantees, but you never know what might come up in the future. Links to our open roles below - due to the massive response so far, I'll likely be closing applications this Friday, March 22nd. “Find a group of people who challenge and inspire you, spend a lot of time with them, and it will change your life.” Amy Poehler Happy to be back with my team in Lisbon and to visit the Lisbon Nearshore colleagues! ☀ In any organization, team spirit isn’t just a buzzword, it’s the secret sauce that propels us forward! 🚀 🤝 Why Does Team Spirit Matter? At ALG, we practice what we preach! We have policies in place to encourage our teams to hang out purely for enjoyment, and we regularly follow our HR’s recommendations to make these gatherings happen. It doesn’t require much effort to be honest, but it’s something we prioritize. While we spend time together for fun, there are significant benefits for both our professionals and the company. Teams work more intensively and collaborate more effectively when they know and trust each other. There’s no better way to build trust and understanding among team members than through activities outside the context of projects and daily tasks. Yes, we come together for fun, but the benefits extend far beyond mere enjoyment. Stronger bonds, better teamwork, and enhanced collaboration are just some of the valuable takeaways. Behold the snapshots encapsulating our latest venture with São Paulo office team, where we delved into an exhilarating (and slightly spine-chilling) escape room followed by an entertaining dinner with the whole group. Cheers!

Think people in The Philippines need detailed instructions? Let me tell you about my team. In my bookkeeping business, we hired a manager who created the processes and trained the team. (In The Philippines.) She told me to stop meddling when I suggested they add detailed checklists for the team. When I first started TeamUp, we had an amateur recruiting process. So, I hired Lalaine. She threw the amateur process out and built a new one. (In The Philippines.) Now we have a very professional, effective process, and I have nothing to do with it. If you want people who can think for themselves and come to you with solutions instead of problems... Hire people who can! Have you built a team like this?
