AQUAPONIC Tip #4 Did you know ? 💧Aquaponic systems can use up to 90% less water compared to traditional agricultural methods for these reasons: • 🔄 Closed-loop system: The water in an aquaponic system doesn't need for constant refilling. • 💨 Reduced evaporation:  evaporation from the water surface compared to open soil is less. • 🌱 Nutrient capture: in open soil water can drain away, carrying with it nutrients. The Ecoshroom, part of the Humanizing Technology Experiments from Hungry EcoCities project, explores soil symbiosis with mycorrhizal fungi. It contains ARCHITECTURE + PLANT + FUNGI Intelligence aiming to tackle the issue of how cities could become self-sustaining by enhancing urban living spaces and agriculture while reducing environmental impacts. It delves into in-soil symbiotics with mycorrhizal fungi. It explores the fascinating world of fungal decision-making and its potential impact on future crop resilience and growth, empowering living organisms to collaborate in future design. 🏭 Ecoshroom project includes exploration of plants and mycorrhizae electrical signals to train a machine learning for the automation of the nutrition system; discovery of further interplays in plant’s microbiome via sensing technologies; elaboration of an Artificial Intelligence that can predict plants and mycorrhizae mutualistic symbiotic behaviour and creation of innovative ways to interact with the audience. As wildfires become more frequent and intense, having access to reliable data is more important than ever. The newly released FIRE-RES Pan-European Fuel Map Server offers a valuable tool for improving wildfire management and risk assessments.

Nowadays, #noise #pollution has a significant impact on our daily mental well-being. Our team, Aparna S Nair and Fida Sherin , have designed an innovative concept for sound insulation using spider web design models combined with moss farms for particulate matter pollution absorption. This demonstrates real-time biomimicry. #Biotechnologists are currently working on these bioarchitecture models. We support these innovative students in turning their ideas into reality. This hands-on program assists them in developing opportunities in biotechnology across various sectors, especially in the shelter and #construction #industry. We proudly showcase the prototyping models of their innovation at Zaara Product School under the Project Zaara Biotech LLC Bioarchitecture and Infrastructure. Now, imagine how noise reduction occurs: when #sound waves hit, noise cancellation is directed towards the structure, which is connected with a double-layer #woolen format. This is also linked to waste #utilization in woolen formats and the cultivation of super moss for #pollution control. We’re 1 of 10 SMEs in Hungry EcoCities – S+T+ARTS In the next 14 months we will be working together with: → Innovators → Architects → Artists → AI Experts → Universities → And many other amazing specialists & creatives Our goal is to come up with fresh & real solutions, for the challenge of indoor climatization for local urban farms, using minimal resources. Indoor farming and hydroponic cultivation bring along many benefits for the cultivation of local sustainable food. But this type of Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) can use a lot of energy to create the perfect indoor climate. This challenge aims to explore innovative, low-tech climatization control systems that can be prototyped and tested. Using natural phenomena and biomimicry, we want to develop a cost-effective, highly energy-efficient solution for small indoor farms.
