Some great advice here from Bumble CEO Lidiane Jones on how women can not only navigate the male-dominated world of tech but rise to the top. It’s encouraging to hear that a number of CEO women have reached out to her and welcomed her into their “small but mighty group.” While this is only a small part of the solution to achieving gender equality, it’s so important to build a strong network of empowered women who can uplift and champion you along the way. #WomenInTech #WomenInLeadership #FemaleFounders

From hula hoops to boardrooms, women know how to make every move count. They have always found the most efficient way to get things done. In this playful challenge, their 17.3-second victory compared to the men’s 33.2 seconds speaks volumes about the power of efficiency. Imagine this same drive and effectiveness applied to leadership roles in the home, politics, C-suites, and the society at large. Gender equality isn’t just a buzzword or about fairness; it’s a blueprint for progress, maximizing potential and benefiting from diverse perspectives. With women at the helm, we unlock untapped potential, drive innovation, empathy, resilience and build a more inclusive, prosperous future. #efficiencywins #genderequality #efficiencyinaction #empoweringwomen

Oooops, look who was late due to the pesky train and missed the team pic 🙋♀️🫣 I had the pleasure of attending a small meet-up hosted by Francesca (Fran) Nolan for female marketing leaders in Birmingham to introduce BRUMWIM (Birmingham Women In Marketing) last week. She bought together such an awesome group of humans. I was so delighted to be invited. Fran did an incredible job of introducing us to the concept of BRUMWIM at the beginning of the night, and we were all transfixed and compelled by the message she wants to share. The energy in the room was honestly incredible as everyone shared their stories and experiences. It was a reminder of what can happen when women come together with a shared purpose. So, what is BRUMWIM? It’s a community built to support and elevate women in Birmingham’s marketing and creative industries. We have three key objectives that guide our mission: 1️⃣ Champion gender equality: We advocate for equal opportunities and representation for women across Birmingham’s industries. 2️⃣ Promote Birmingham’s Marketing & Creative Industries: Our goal is to showcase local talent, encourage innovation, and raise the visibility of Birmingham’s creative sector. 3️⃣ Build Confidence: Confidence is at the heart of everything we do. We want to empower women to overcome barriers like industry access, the pay gap, career progression challenges, and balancing family life and the motherhood penalty—just to name a few. Confidence is going to be a huge focus for us. Confidence doesn’t just appear—it’s something we build step by step, and last week’s meet-up was a fantastic first step. I can't wait to see where this journey takes us and how BRUMWIM will make a difference in our community. We have some exciting announcements coming soon, including networking events, talks, and mentorship opportunities designed to empower and connect Birmingham’s creative talent 💪 If this sounds like something you’d love to be part of, I’d love to hear from you 🙏 (website, socials, events etc coming soon!) #EmpoweringWomenElevatingBirmingham #BRUMWIM #ConfidenceInAction #WomenInMarketing #BirminghamCreative"

“Women have the right to be executives, mothers, or choose not to be mothers, and still be seen as equal.” - 💡 Hang Black As women in tech, we stand by these powerful words from Hang Black, Head of Global Revenue Enablement at Nutanix. The freedom to choose our paths, whether it be in the boardroom, at home, or both, should never come at the expense of being valued equally. We believe in creating a world where women are empowered to make choices that suit their lives, while being respected for their contributions to society, no matter what path they choose. At Women in Tech for Harris, we are committed to supporting leadership that recognizes and upholds equality in all its forms. Kamala Harris has been a steadfast advocate for gender equity, and we believe her vision will pave the way for a future where all women can thrive, both personally and professionally. Join us in building a more equitable future by supporting Kamala Harris in 2024.
