I can't believe the interest I've gotten on my recent trip to #Antarctica! Wondering what it was about? Here are the Top 10 Questions I keep getting: (and check my Insta for a 90 second vid recap! - SarahBMME) 🔹1. Was it freezing? A: We were there at the end of Antarctica's Summer (and the tail end of the tour season) so it was mild, respectively. Average temp for us was 29-33°F (-1 to 1°C). It was colder in Colorado while we were there! 🔹2. Did you see any wildlife? A: Yes! We got up close & personal with 3 species of Penguins: Gentoo, Adelie & Chinstrap; Humpback whales & Orcas; and Fur, Elephant & Leopard Seals (one even tried to take a bite out of our Zodiac!) 🔹3. Where did you stay? A: On a cruise ship called The World Traveler. There are no accommodations on the continent (except for research centers) so you have to go by ship. It was a 5 star beautiful yacht with all the amenities so no complaints here! 🔹4. How was Drake's Passage?? A: We got super lucky! the "most treacherous ocean crossing on earth" was relatively calm because of mild weather, so it gently rocked us to sleep instead of throwing us all over the ship like can often happen 🔹5. Did you really jump in the water? A: Yes! This was one of the best parts! Called a "Polar Plunge". We got all psyched up by dancing, then jumped into the Antarctic Ocean surrounded by icebergs. It's an instant shock, followed by a warm tingly sensation & 2 hours of an adrenaline High. I did it 3X! 🔹6. What was the best part? A: Impossible to choose! I climbed mountains and was surrounded by some of the most awe-inspiring beauty I couldn't even imagine, was humbled by incredible wildlife, conquered fears and checked off bucket list adventures, learned from passionate, knowledgeable expedition guides, had intimate concerts with renowned musicians and DJ's, and met some of the most passionate, life affirming people on earth. 🔹7. What did it cost? A: Because the company had a short term cancellation, they were able to offer a HIGHLY discounted rate. PLUS, The prize for Meeting Broker of the Year is $5,000 towards Bucket List Travel anywhere in the world, and I've won 4X, so MME Actually picked up the tab! 🔹8. How'd you get there? A: Flew into Buenos Aires, chartered flight to Ushuaia, then the Ship. All in, it was 15 days 🔹9. Did you plan it yourself or go with a tour company? A: The Cruise is run by Atlas Ocean Voyages, and the Musicians, Wellness, & entertainment was planned by Insider Expeditions 🔹10. Should I go? A: Yes, Yes, YES! When I told Mike Ferreira that this was where I chose for my first #MBOTY trip, he thought I was crazy. Then, he started seeing pics, and he got it! If you ever have the chance to go, 1000% Take it! ❓Any other Questions? happy to answer in the comments! #Incentivetravel #Incentivetrip #Bucketlisttravel #Meetingbroker #Meetingprofs #Travel Meetings Made Easy | Meetings and Events

The Weddell Sea is an extraordinary and remote expanse of the Southern Ocean, standing as one of the most pristine and untouched environments on Earth. Located off the eastern coast of Antarctica, this vast sea is a marvel of nature, characterised by its crystal-clear waters and colossal, otherworldly icebergs that drift silently across the horizon. The sheer isolation of the Weddell Sea has allowed it to remain one of the least disturbed ecosystems, making it a haven for an incredible array of wildlife. Here, you'll find Weddell seals basking on the ice, colonies of Adelie and emperor penguins braving the frigid conditions, and various whale species, including orcas and humpbacks, navigating its icy waters. The Weddell Sea is also steeped in the dramatic history of polar exploration. It played a pivotal role in the legendary and harrowing expedition of Sir Ernest Shackleton, whose ship, the Endurance, was famously trapped and crushed by the sea ice in 1915. The story of Shackleton's leadership and the survival of his crew remains one of the most inspiring tales of human endurance and resilience. Beyond its historical significance, the Weddell Sea offers a glimpse into the raw, untamed beauty of our planet. The vast, icy landscapes create a surreal and almost otherworldly atmosphere, where the silence is broken only by the sound of cracking ice and the distant calls of seabirds. For scientists and adventurers alike, the Weddell Sea is a place of wonder and discovery, representing one of the last frontiers of truly wild and uncharted territory on Earth. Whether viewed from the deck of a ship or from above in a helicopter, the Weddell Sea leaves an indelible impression, reminding us of the planet's awe-inspiring power and the delicate balance of its ecosystems.
