➡️ When women aren’t present, we must ask: Why not? This includes seats at the executive or management level. ➡️ When women are discriminated against, we must call out poor practice. This is true of women discriminating against other women too, not just men. ➡️ When treatment of women is not equitable, we must take action. ➡️ When women are spoken to in a patronizing, misogynistic way, or their opinions are not taken seriously because of stereotypes against women, we must speak up. I stand for inclusion in the workplace. Strike a pose to #InspireInclusion today on International Women's Day 2024 💖🫶💯 And learn more ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dT7DKC9n

🌍 Even though International Women's Day is just one day a year, it's important to celebrate and advocate for the women in our workplace every day. We are proud to have driven, confident women in our team who bring so much value to our company. The theme #InspireInclusion is incredibly important, particularly in the workplace where there still remain many spoken and unspoken inequalities. Inspiring inclusion encourages us to recognise these issues and work towards correcting them. 🤝 How do you celebrate the women in your workplace? #NetworksCentre #InternationalWomensDay #InspireInclusion

It's International Women's Day 2024 When we inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion, we forge a better world. And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there's a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment. Collectively, let's forge a more inclusive world for women. Although today has an official title, in my view it's no different to any other day. This quote from Mindy Kaling sums up my feelings nicely. #InspireInclusion #hrsupport #freelandhr #hrconsultant #PentlandHR

I was delighted to share my thoughts with PwC Middle East for their new study: "Navigating the path back: Women returners in MENA" on career breaks, returnship programs and new ways of working in the future. Unfortunately, we lose many female leaders in businesses especially in the middle of their career journey. 🌟68% of women take career breaks at grades beyond entry-level. 🌟83% of women agreed that returnship programmes are important in influencing their decision to rejoin the workforce. 🌟US$4.3bn of total GDP gains could be generated across the nine surveyed countries by activating flexible working arrangements. This International Women’s Day, I hope that this report will support initiatives across #MENA in adopting new legislation and actions to continue to enhance representation of female talent in senior leadership roles. When we inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion, we forge a better world, and, when women themselves are inspired to be included, there's a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment. The aim of the IWD 2024 #InspireInclusion campaign is to collectively forge a more inclusive world for women. When women aren't present, we must ask: "If not, why not?" When women are discriminated against, we must call out poor practice. When the treatment of women is not equitable, we must take action. And we must do this each time, every time. Are you in? Will you inspire inclusion?

The recent Women in the Workplace Report by McKinsey & Company and Lean In showed that if we continue at the current rate of progress, it’ll take 22 years for white women to reach parity in the workplace. It will take women of colour twice as long. It’s a statistic we can’t ignore, one that shows there is still work to be done for women to achieve the equality they deserve at work, and an intersectional approach must be taken.
