Collective Leadership Institute's Transformative Partnership Award recognizes and celebrates exceptional multi-stakeholder Partnerships for their development of quality processes and methods towards sustainable results. This years award went to Play Africa an interactive childrens museum on the site of CONSTITUTION HILL -- a former prison complex turned human rights precinct and home to South Africas Constitutional Court. This partnership transforms this apartheid-era prison from a site of humiliation, oppression, and fear, into a joyful family playscape of discovery and learning. Our 2nd place finalist, LAND FOR LIFE SIERRA LEONE LfL a country-level multi-stakeholder partnership that visions an end to hunger and extreme poverty in Sierra Leone achieved through responsible management of the country’s natural resources. And our 3rd place finalist Circular Economy Coalition is a testament to the power of transformative change in the realm of sustainability through partnership. The international coalition's goal is to build a robust ecosystem functioning as a Value Network across more than 30 countries united by a shared vision of advancing the circular economy through shared tools and resources. If you see yourself or a beloved not-for-profit or project in these stories of sustainability through transformational partnerships --or have something new and unique to contribute-- the good news is the 2025 application portal IS OPEN! https://lnkd.in/e-WtS2Jf We are accepting applications through August. At Kinvest Impact, we build market innovations in partnership with communities in rural Africa. The initial step of our approach is to meet with local leaders in prospective partner communities. Community engagement aims to gather input from village leadership, considering the community's needs and aspirations and assessing the alignment of our initiatives. The community leaders we meet with are deeply committed to their village's well-being and motivated to address underlying systemic challenges. We collaborate with them to explore ways to meet their specific needs. We prioritize partnering with communities most in need of our services, particularly those in isolated rural areas lacking access to electricity, where our four initiatives—Market Hubs, Leader Development, Clean Water, and Rural Transportation—can have the most significant impact. Together with local leaders, we accelerate sustainable rural development. Yesterday, I participated as a panelist on SDG synergy: holistic and inclusive approaches to development hosted by the Scottish International Development Alliance. One of the interesting questions was about how decolonizing, anti-racist and inclusive approaches play a role. The conversations are picking steam, translating it all into actions is a critical task in the sector moving forward. We still have 99% of global humanitarian and philanthropic $$ going to predominantly white-led organizations. Or that only 5.4% of US funding to Africa went directly to locally-founded and led organizations. The sector has recognized that grassroots leaders and organizations working in closest proximity to communities bring about lasting change and transformation that is unmatched. Our SDG goal synergies at Budondo Intercultural Center have shown that we not only provide care to critical cases in rural areas, but also reduce over-the-counter medical bills by 70% through social entrepreneurship and increase community resilience through population health and environment actions across 600 model households. Thank you Scottish International Development Alliance for having me.

#Register to Participate in the 3rd NNational Youth SDGs Summit. The National Youth SDGs (NYSDGs) Summit is a multi-stakeholder Policy advocacy platform for youth engagement on the Sustainable Development Goal, and the aspiration of Africa agenda 2063. Launched in 2019 by Youth Transforming Africa Narrative (YOTAN), the NYSDGs aim at mobilizing a multi-sector alliance of action-focused youth, innovative thought leaders, development experts, the government, NGOs, the civil society and private sector to create a more optimistic, responsible and sustainable future we want together. By offering opportunities to share expertise, learning and innovative best practices to inform policy making, the summit also seeks to bolster good and inclusive governance through 2030 and beyond; amplify voices and accelerate sustainable solutions to issues confronting young people to spur inclusive growth and hold the government accountable for the delivery of the SDG Goals and agenda 2063. https://lnkd.in/e4TdTfu7
