At Cradle, we love doing what we do but we also love sharing how we do it with fellow science enthusiasts. In our team, we are constantly developing new and efficient workflows that we believe will also help the scientific community. We routinely express and purify hundreds of proteins weekly using readily available equipment and materials. Michelle Vandeloo and I recently wrote a blogpost describing the rationale and the step-by-step protocol of this unique set up. While our method may not be suitable for every lab or protein, we believe sharing our experience could spark ideas or offer a starting point for others looking to optimize their own protein purification processes. Go give it a read and let us know if you have any questions! Follow Cradle for more Link to the blog and SOP in comments!

Do you want to help researchers plan experiments with your products? 🔬 On our Citation Widget we annotate product citations to only show relevant experimental information, helping to do just that. This means that the reactivity, application or research area displayed showcases how that exact reagent was used, rather than including all the (often irrelevant!) data mentioned in the paper. Plus, we crop published images to the specific panel where the reagent was used. #citations #reagents

And here it is.... the *proper* website for Mi_Crochet Lab Volume 1 Issue 1 😀. What is Mi_Crochet Lab I hear you ask? 💬 It is a comic book style story, set in a crocheted microbiology laboratory. 🐝 The story is told from the perspective of Science Bee, a microbiology researcher and general all round awesome scientist. 👕Volume 1 tells the story behind Science Bee’s research into the production of sustainable fashion using bacterial cellulose and is broken into several issues which each tell a specific part of the story. ⏲ Issues will be released approximately every 2 months. 🆓 This is the social media free version - no Instagram account needed - you can just read it on my website Be Sciencey. But... Why? 💚 I love finding new ways to communicate science to a new audience. 🏫During my past career, I spent thousands of hours standing at a podium talking about science in the name of education. 🧠 Lots of people enjoy learning this way but many, like me, find we don’t engage with traditional learning methods, so I wanted to put an alternative way of learning out into the science ethos. ✈️Mi_Crochet lab is just as much about my learning journey as it is about communicating science. I learn best when I am building things. The process of doing something practical is a good distraction for my #ADHD brain and keeps me interested in a project or topic. 🌟So, Mi_Crochet lab is inspiration for all the alternative learners out there like me. Why not build your own fabulous learning world and see where it takes you? Drop me a like and a follow if you want to hear more about Mi_Crochet Lab and Science Bee. #sciencecommunication #microbiology #sustainablefashion #crochet #scienceeducation #inclusivescience #alternativeeducation #sciart #fibreart #neurodivergentlearner
