What does one year look like at the Dumb Friends League hospital at #CSUSpur? Take a look 👀 🐶 More than 12,000 spay and neuter surgeries. 🐱 Around 1,100 urgent care surgeries. 🦷 Approximately 500 dental procedures. If you spent time at Vida in 2024, chances are you witnessed one or more of these procedures in action. This incredible team of dedicated veterinarians works tirelessly, performing donor-subsidized surgeries year-round. Their mission ensures that every pet in the Denver community—regardless of their owner’s income, language, or location—can access the care they deserve. And it’s all happening right before your eyes at CSU Spur!

Interesting thoughts here
Multiple studies in the human field have analysed flow disruptions to surgery and their relationship to surgical errors. Major points include: 1. Surgical errors increased significantly with increases in flow disruptions. 2. Teamwork/communication failures were the strongest predictor of surgical errors. I feel that this is still a hugely untapped area in veterinary anaesthesia but one worthy of attention. Veterinary team members are masters at multi-tasking but how can we reduce the burden on individuals/teams and continue to improve anaesthesia patient safety? ➡ Prioritise anaesthesia workflow and all that it encompasses

Pre-operative and 3-month post-operative hip radiographs of the same dog following #TotalHipReplacement. Note the improvement in muscle mass is already evident within the initial recovery period. Pyometra is a serious condition in cats where the uterus becomes infected and filled with pus. It typically occurs in older, unspayed females due to hormonal changes. Symptoms include lethargy, vomiting, increased thirst, and possibly a swollen abdomen. Prompt veterinary attention is crucial, as untreated pyometra can be life-threatening. Treatment usually involves emergency surgery to remove the infected uterus and ovaries.

🌟 FAQ: Why does my pet need a blood test before surgery❓🌟 Our vets work to the highest standards of care and we strongly believe that performing a pre-anaesthetic blood test for pets who are undergoing a general anaesthetic is meeting that standard. All pets receive a full physical exam during their surgical stay, but a pre-anaesthetic blood test gives us a much more detailed look into your pet’s health by showing us any underlying disease processes that may be present but not obvious. We are predominantly looking at kidney and liver function as these are the two main organs that process the anaesthetic drugs. Any hidden problems can therefore be detected before surgery. Blood testing also gives us a baseline reading so if there are any future problems with your pet, we have information with which to compare current results. If you have any questions about pre-anaesthetic blood testing for your pet, please speak to your local vet. 💜 #waggydog #waggydogmarketing #petindustry #veterinary #petmarketing #vets #vetsocialmedia #petsocialmedia #socialmediaforpets #socialmediaforvets #bloodtests #bloodtesting #petsurgery #standardsofcare #preanaestheticbloodtest

One of our favorite moments is when we get to see these little patients doing so well after having their surgery! 😊 Let's meet Csupi here, who received 2 TroCa systems & has already wonderfully recovered from both surgeries as we can see! Big thanks to the owners who shared this clip with us - these are such great moments where we keep remembering why we do our supportive & innovative work. #3dprinting #datavisualization #bioengineering #3dmodelling #vet #advancedvisualization #veterinaryclinic #veterinarytools #advancedveterinaryvisualization #veterinarypractice #clinicalvet #veterinaryanatomy #veterinar #veterinarstudent #veterinarytools

📢 Case Study: Minimally Invasive Foreign Body Removal in a Canine Patient We recently managed a fascinating case involving a dog that had swallowed corn on the cob—an object notorious for causing blockages in the digestive tract. Using our high-resolution ultrasound, we were able to accurately identify the foreign body’s location. What made this case particularly noteworthy was that we successfully removed the corn on the cob endoscopically, avoiding the need for invasive surgery. 🔬 Why Does This Matter? This case showcases how Mobile Vet Referral can support veterinary practices by offering affordable, minimally invasive solutions. By employing top-quality diagnostic tools like ultrasound and endoscopy, we help ensure that pets receive the necessary care without the complications and costs often associated with more invasive procedures. 🚑 How We Can Support Your Practice: Our mobile referral service brings advanced techniques straight to your clinic, offering: - Minimally invasive procedures, reducing recovery time and stress for the patient; - Affordable options, making high-quality care more accessible to clients; - The convenience of having an advanced certificate holder on-site, avoiding the need to refer cases to large hospitals This case is just one example of how our state-of-the-art equipment and expertise can benefit both vets and pet owners. We’re committed to providing pets with the best possible care in the least invasive way, whilst keeping costs manageable. 💡 Have a complex case that could benefit from on-site advanced care? Let’s work together! #VeterinaryMedicine #MobileVetReferral #Endoscopy #Ultrasound #MinimallyInvasive #PetCare #AffordableVetCare #ReferralServices
