Summer Reflections & Prepping to win Q3/Q4 at Scandinavian Biolabs ⚡ Just came fully back from off-summer, and feeling grateful for being able to take time to reinforce and reflect on how I perform at my best. My top three reinforcements this year, nothing groundbreaking: 1. Don’t fill your off-time with more stress. Embrace true relaxation. 🧘♂️✨ 2. Fall in love with your daily life. Appreciate your home base. ❤️🏡 3. Focus on what matters. Excellence over everything, cut the crap. ⚡🏆 Anything to add to the below? 🤔 🧘♂️✨Taking time off in a scaling company sometime feels daunting. However, it’s non-negotiable. You don’t even know you’re overwhelmed, anxious or lack energy until you force your nervous system to calm down. This summer, I let my nervous system chill, and gave my brain a break. This does not take a week - you need to let it sit for some time, and not just fill up with other activities. 🏡❤️ I stayed in Copenhagen almost all summer. And you know what? It was AMAZING. For me, this city is incredible, and the downtime here was pure gold. Copenhagen, you’re a darling. ⚡🏆 At Scandinavian Biolabs, we’ve got a million projects running at any given time. Summer might slow things down, but what’s getting done? It’s happening at breakneck speed and top-tier quality. Reinforcement of the rule: Do fewer things, but do them bigger, better, and faster. Cut the crap, focus on excellence.

With 74 schools and over 5,670 students involved, this impactful project highlights actionable ways to improve indoor air quality and children’s health. 🚀 Smappee Smartstop hits double digits! The 10th Smartstop is now operational in Sint-Andries, Bruges, showcasing 100% Belgian innovation and 100% green energy. Onward to 15 locations by year-end! 🌱 Go Forest celebrates Green Friday! Partnering with Rubio Monocoat and Xandres Go Forest launched a sustainable alternative to Black Friday, to make a lasting positive impact. 🐾 AniCura België promotes responsible antibiotic use. Supporting awareness on antibiotics resistance during World Antibiotics Awareness Week, keeping antibiotics effective for both pets and humans. Taking photos at events I attend is definitely something I need to work on 😅 I can't believe SaaStr Europa is over, I'm sitting back at my desk and I have no pictures to share from the Tobbacco Dock itself (and it was very much a picture worthy venue). Maybe I can count on Siphesihle Hlela (He/Him) and Karol Wojtaszek? 🤳 If I remember correctly, we took some photos together during the conference. My feed is currently flooded with pictures of other attendees, some of whom I had the pleasure of chatting with in person, some I sadly missed. But the overall consensus is: SaaStr Europa was a fantastic event, full of invaluable insights on the direction of the industry and some of the most pressing challenges faced by SaaS companies in 2024. I won't summarise all of the lessons learned in just one post, but you can expect me to share some of my thoughts and learnings over the next few days. But some key takeaways include: ☑ The whole industry is under stress, funding is a lot more difficult to receive, so it's more important than ever to focus on profitability, as the next financing round might not be coming any time soon. ☑ High velocity in product teams has a higher priority than in the past. There is a lot of pressure on development teams to deliver more value with fewer engineers. ☑ Keeping Product-Market Fit can be as challenging (if not more) as finding it, as once you've found it, there will be a lot of stress from external stakeholders that could distract your core team from the actual mission and value prop. ☑ It's more crucial than ever for marketing and sales teams to work together in a tight-knit collaboration - AI tools can automate a large section of demand generation process. ☑ Many businesses are still looking for ways to implement AI in their operations, but their not sure how to do it.
