Insight into the future of the energy industry: RIVEON participated the Vattenfall Conference in Stockholm We´re keeping up to date with the latest developments in the energy sector! That means being informed and consult with experts. A few of our employees were able to do just that by attending the recent Vattenfall Nordic Data Center Conference. This covered a variety of topics related to the energy market, grid capacity allocation, artificial intelligence (AI), battery operation, flexibility in the electricity markets and the Energy Efficiency Directive. We were particularly impressed by the discussion on artificial intelligence and its impact on the energy sector and how important it is to develop innovative solutions to keep the electricity grid stable. After all, this is exactly our vision at RIVEON – to stabilize the power grid through innovative technologies for renewable energy producers and to facilitate their integration. We will use the insights from the conference in Stockholm to get closer to this goal and incorporate the knowledge from the presentations directly into our projects. Interested in joining an innovative team and making a difference in the energy sector? Today at the EM-Power Europe Conference in Munich, I took part in the “Demand Side Flexibility - the Role of Grid Infrastructure, Market Parties and Digitalisation in Meeting Consumers’ Expectations” session alongside Andreas Jahn, Sebastian Mahlow, Dr. Frank Schlichting and Alex Schoch, and moderated by Carmen Gimeno de la Fuente. The growing electrification of our society puts Power Grids at the centre of the Energy Transition, and according to the Eurelectric “Grids for Speed” report, EU 27 countries and Norway will need to invest around 67 B€ per year from 2025 to 2050 to enable a successful Energy Transition and secure energy supply. EDP's network distribution companies operate in Brazil, Portugal, and Spain, and comprise 389k kilometres of networks and distribute 86k GWh to 11,8M connections. We are actively working to enable the Energy Transition, connecting renewable power plants, self-consumption installations, energy communities and electric mobility charging stations, using Smartgrids as the backbone to connect and provide information, and providing 400M daily data records in Portugal alone, information that we share with everyone through our Open Data Portal (e-redes.opendatasoft.com). We are conducting flexibility pilots and adopting more and more Agile practices to make the most of our resources. We work relentlessly for our grids to enable the Energy Transition. #grids #energy_transition #smart_meters

Toward a less fragmented European energy supply sector At The smarter E Europe 2024, the Energy Transition Award, initiated by EUPD Research Energy and The smarter E , was presented to energy suppliers that showed exemplary commitment to advancing the energy transition for the 8th time. This year, however, was a little different, as the scope of the event extended from the DACH region to energy suppliers from other European countries, such as France. Julien Tchernia, CEO & Co-Founder of Ekwateur welcomed this expansion: "I think energy [supply] is one of the most fragmented sectors across Europe, and we need this kind of European competition and European gathering so as to try to set up something that is really across the whole continent, so that the energy transition goes faster everywhere." ❕ Watch the full statement from Julien Tchernia: https://lnkd.in/e92Cfzwa More interviews and statements from participants of this year's Energy Transition Award: https://lnkd.in/gftFsHnT #EnergySuppliers #EnergyTransition #ExperiencesOnDemand #SSDCCinema #SSDC

Energy storage is one of the key #netzero technologies with significant potential for the EU industry. As a production location, technology developer, and driver of innovation, Germany is a frontrunner in the EU for multiple net-zero technologies. It is essential to maintain this advantage and support the development, market integration, and implementation of European innovations. These were some key takeaways from the pivotal workshop in Brussels titled "Boosting the EU’s Net-Zero Technology Manufacturing Industry: Challenges and Policy Solutions" on July 10, 2024, organized by the European Commission's DG Ener and DG Grow, which our colleague Beatrice Schulz attended this week. This event was a key part of the ongoing discussion process stemming from the Net Zero Industry Act, which focuses on identifying best practices from member states and brainstorming further measures to enhance the EU's industrial competitiveness. The discussions also delved into the most effective policy options and regulatory frameworks (including permitting, public procurement, skills, etc.) at both the national and EU levels, as well as public funding options and financial tools for the EU to attract private investments in Net-Zero technology manufacturing projects. The Net Zero Industry Act sets an ambitious goal: achieving a net-zero manufacturing capacity that meets at least 40% of the EU's annual deployment needs by 2030. This objective aims to provide predictability, certainty, and long-term signals to manufacturers and investors, fostering a stable environment for growth and innovation. It's a sprint and a marathon at the same time. The workshop provided valuable insights into the discussions at the EU level and in Germany #BMWK. We are looking forward to the next steps! #energystorage #manufacturing #renewableenergy BVES Energy Storage Systems Association Urban Windelen Turkan Maharramova Simon Steffgen Gerrit Lühring Ekaterina (Katja) Esche Johannes Hauck Jan Knaack Dr. Reinhild Hugenroth Thomas Speidel Heinrich Gärtner

🌍🔋The future of German power demand: How high will it rise, how flexible will it be? This week, we had the pleasure of presenting our latest study to Aurora Energy Research's subscriber group, exploring the impacts of different demand trajectories on the German power market. Based on 4 scenarios, we assessed the interplay of demand level 📈 and demand flexibility 🔀 and analysed the impact of varying growth paths on different asset groups. 💡 Key takeaway? In the short term, demand levels are the primary market driver. Over the medium to long term, demand flexibility plays an equally crucial role, with its impact differing notably across technology groups. 🎉 Huge congratulations to our amazing team Lukas Günner, Erica Kim, Lars Jerrentrup, Claudia Günther, Hanns Koenig for delivering such highly insightful work! Curious to dive deeper? Reach out to my colleague Tim Vandenbroucke. #EnergyTransition #PowerMarkets #Renewables #PowerDemand #Decarbonisation
