In this article, we will delve into the advantages of calcium sulfonate as a lubricant detergency component, as well as the characteristics of its synthesis process. Synthesis Process Characteristics: 1.Quaternized Synthesis Process To produce high-quality calcium sulfonate, manufacturers typically use a quaternized synthesis process. This process involves treating calcium oxide with a sulfonic acid compound and then neutralizing the resulting mixture with quaternary ammonium hydroxides (QA). The use of QA results in more excellent molecular weight sulfonates, which are perfect for lubricant applications. 2.Homogeneous Reaction Mixture Another characteristic of the synthesis process is the use of a homogeneous reaction mixture. This mixture is crucial in ensuring even distribution of reactants, resulting in high-quality calcium sulfonate. The homogeneous reaction mixture is typically produced by utilizing advanced mixing techniques, such as emulsification or shear-mixing. 3. High Purity Calcium Oxide Lastly, high-purity calcium oxide is a critical component of the synthesis process. The quality of the calcium oxide used determines the purity of the final calcium sulfonate product. Therefore, manufacturers will often source high-quality calcium oxide to ensure that their final product meets industry standards. Barium Stearate — CHNV BV100 A colorless solid that is insoluble in water and ethanol, and difficult to dissolve in benzene and toluene. It dissolves in organic solvents upon heating and forms a gel-like substance upon cooling. It reacts with strong acids to produce stearic acid and the corresponding barium salt. It is highly toxic, and ingestion can lead to poisoning. Application: This product can be used as a thermal stabilizer for polyvinyl chloride and vinyl copolymers, offering excellent lubricity, long-term heat resistance, and stability effectiveness greater than that of calcium stearate, but not as high as lead stearate. It exhibits good synergistic effects when used in combination with cadmium soaps, zinc soaps, or epoxy compounds. The typical dosage ranges from 0.1% to 2%. When used with a small amount of lead-based stabilizers, it can improve the electrical properties of products. It serves as a high-temperature lubricant for machinery and a high-temperature powder for rubber products. It can act as both a stabilizer and lubricant for polyvinyl chloride, and among all alkaline earth metal stearates, this product has the best long-term heat resistance. Barium stearate is primarily used in transparent films, sheets, artificial leather, rigid boards, and pipes. In soft products, it is often used in combination with cadmium, cadmium-zinc, or cadmium-lead soaps. In formulations for sulfur-resistant artificial leather, it is commonly used with zinc soaps. In pipes and cable materials, it is often combined with basic lead salts and lead soaps. In corrugated sheets, it is frequently used in conjunction with cadmium soaps, lead soaps, and basic lead salts.
