Headed to Madeira soon? Check out my review of Enotel Sunset Bay: Upon entering, the hotel is bright and warm, thanks to the heated pool being right next to the reception! There are only two floors of the hotel, so it is never really that busy. The location is perfect, and most rooms have a sea view too. If you are brave enough to swim in the ocean (it can be a little cold,) then it is right on your doorstep. There are also several good restaurants in the vicinity, all charging very reasonable prices and great for meals, drinks, and snacks. Do you enjoying exploring restaurants whilst travelling? Taking of food, there is free breakfast (buffet style – pancakes, waffles, hot food – it’s all there) as well as free WiFi for all guests. Some of the rooms have balconies and when the sun is out (which is most of the time) you can enjoy taking in some rays. There is no kettle, but you can ask for one. There was also a safe, en-suite bathroom and daily room cleaning. A few toiletries were also provided, so you have everything you need. There is a small gym too. Get 40 free credits here: https://bit.ly/42Yv7kN Right next to the pool (heated by the sun shining through the glass windows) there is a sauna too. I would not recommend having dinner in the hotel. Not to say that the food will not be good, but there are so many nice restaurants in the area (see suggestions at the bottom.) Being at the bottom of the “hill” that is Ponta do Sol, the only disadvantage is that you need strong legs if you want to go to the shopping centre, bank, or pharmacy. There is an ATM on the street to the side of the hotel, however, it is a privately-owned one and I believe charges around 3-4€ for withdrawals. In terms of public transport, there is not much of it although there is a bus that goes a few times a day into Ribiera Brava and then onwards to Funchal where you can connect to travel to the airport. If you go to Funchal, I recommend finding an express bus as the slower buses take around an hour and a half. Other options are, of course, car hire and taxis – there are normally some hovering around outside the hotel or the Bolt app usually works too. The hotel reception is open 24 hours so no need to worry if you are arriving or returning late. Its feeling like fall, but that doesn't mean we cant celebrate another #FenestrationFriday. This weeks showcase makes me wish we still had some summer months ahead of us! Now, as someone who follows real estate, there is a rule everyone knows...location, location, location. Gibson Point, a 6-story, 291-unit multifamily development designed by our friends at Arrowstreet Inc., exemplifies that rule, location is king! With beautiful views of the water ways, or the backdrop of the Boston skyline, you will have no shortage of views through INTUS windows. One important goal of this project was to create a very organic, clean space, focused on health and wellness. How did the project Team achieve that? Spa like amenities, nature boardwalks, and one imperative aspect for the units, using electric heat pumps in lieu of fossil fuel units. Electric heat pumps are becoming more and more popular, especially as we as nation try to reduce our carbon footprint. Here is the good news, we have multiple heat pump integration panels for our windows! Rest assured we have solutions for any way you would like to vent through our windows.
