Did you know that to keep global warming below 1.5°C this century, we must all halve our annual greenhouse gas emissions by 2030? Without businesses across the globe cutting their carbon emissions, this will not be possible. To help you, when hiring equipment on HSS ProService Marketplace, our platform will suggest greener alternatives at the point of order where appropriate. This doesn’t just save you valuable time to look for more environmentally friendly products, but helps towards your businesses sustainability campaign. Win-win! If you’d like to find out more about greener alternatives, or other sustainability features of HSS ProService Marketplace, visit our website now or pop me a message and we can have a chat! ---------- #BuildingServices #Sustainability #Procurement #SupplyChain #SustainableConstruction #SustainableLogistics

According to the MCC carbon clock, we have exactly 5 years, 1 month, 16 days, and some 18 odd hours until the CO2 budget (amount of CO2 that can be released into the atmosphere to limit global warming to a maximum of 1.5°C) is depleted. Industries and companies around the globe are fastening their innovations to save the environment. The chemical industry is at the forefront of the sustainability initiative, be it - finding PFAS-free solutions across a multitude of end applications. - sourcing green and clean ingredients and, at the same time, making the manufacturing sustainable by using fewer resources. - launching large-scale green tech projects to reduce the reliance on fossil fuels in the petrochemical industry. - or tackling waste generation and management with unique packaging solutions. All we can do is keep moving forward, looking for better alternatives, and creating greener supply chains. Happy World Environment Day! #worldenvironmentday #sustainability #carbonneutrality

Today is Global Recycling Day ♻️ Every year, the Earth gives billions of tons of natural resources which will run out in the not-too-distant future. That's why at Myson we are: ♻️ using fewer raw materials to make our products; ♻️pursuing circularity in our production processes; ♻️ eliminating waste to landfill and reducing water consumption; ♻️ switching to recycled, recyclable or biodegradable materials. ♻ It's World Recycling Day apparently... we have been talking about this stuff since our inception nearly 25 years ago. We believe that creating as-long-as-possible lifecycles for materials and natural resources is critical to safeguarding the future of our planet. For decades, we have driven policy and projects to create a circular economy where materials and resources are reused, recycled, and repurposed. We have helped many organisations reduce the harmful impact of waste and surplus resource use on the planet – and innovate to find new ways to reuse these resources to benefit society and the planet. We just want to raise one small point - whilst recycling is VITAL we cant just recycle our way out of the Climate Crisis. Today is Climate Emergency Day, marking a globally established 4 year countdown to dramatically reduce fossil fuel emissions to stay below 1.5C degrees warming. The climate clock is ticking and reaffirming the need for a rapid transition away from fossil fuels. As part of Woodland Group’s commitment to net-zero, numerous improvements have been made in an effort to achieve this: - Significant steps towards encouraging the use of alternative fuel through implementing HVO into our fleet, offering 90% emissions reductions. - E-HGV trials underway at our Doncaster site. - Installation of our largest solar panels to date, contributing to the pre-existing 526 solar panels across 4 of our facilities. - Drastic increase in volume of waste recycled, resulting in Woodland’s global waste to landfill decreasing from 64% to 37%. To learn more about Woodland Group’s efforts to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, our 2023 Sustainability Report can be found here: https://bit.ly/3WgqWh7 Join us in working towards much needed change - if you have any questions, want to discuss possible solutions to reduce reliance on fossil fuels or collaborate with us on the future of sustainable supply chain management, please get in contact via our website. #WeCare #WeConnect #WeDeliver

The industry is networking in the fight against climate change. Recycling, circularity, renewable energies and detailed monitoring - with innovative approaches and concrete measures, it is striving to reduce its carbon footprint, achieve the 1.5-degree target and prevent catastrophic consequences for billions of people. Where do we stand and what measures are effective in achieving Net Zero? Everything will change - for the worse Missing the 1.5 degree target by just half a degree Celsius will lead to 2 billion people being exposed to extreme heat in five to ten years' time. 50 percent of the world's population will suffer from a lack of drinking water, droughts and flood disasters. Everything will change - for the worse. In order to avert these disasters and ultimately survive as a brand, global emissions must be reduced by 50 percent by 2030, and by as much as 90-100 percent by 2050. This will not work with the current political measures. The industry https://lnkd.in/g9-w-HM6 #ISPO #PartnerNews

H2O Talking about greenhouse gas emissions or diversity in conjunction with sustainability has become politicized and emotional. It might be possible to have a dispassionate discussion about water. For the reasons discussed below, investors expect a tightening of the clean water market (independently from any global warming.) As a result, ‘water’ has become one of the biggest themes in sustainable finance and beyond, supported by the UN’s Sustainability Development Goal #6. Utilities and companies offering solutions in water treatment or efficiency have been big beneficiaries of this trend, especially as these so-called ‘water stocks’ are scarce. Logically, it will not take long before investors who expect water shortages and invest in companies offering water risk-mitigating solutions ask all companies about their direct and indirect clean water dependency. Indeed, they can divert capital to firms actively dealing with water risk to ensure business continuity (or reduce their exposure to the companies that do not). It is a supply-chain play for investors who can invest not only in water stocks, but also in their best customers. As illustrated in the table below, water risk impacts industries in their direct operations (apparel, luxury goods, natural resources extraction, pharma), along the supply chain (food and beverage), or at the product use level (plastic containers, chemicals). Overall, McKinsey estimates that two-thirds of businesses have substantial water-related risks. Taking a step back, water is a big play for several reasons. Bringing tangible progress forward through #innovation Collectively, the world needs to act with urgency to stop the rate of global climate warming. A vital component of this change is in reducing carbon emissions. The aim, in order to hit net zero, is to free ourselves from dependency on fossil fuels to power life. The feedstocks in our sustainable base chemicals portfolio are ‘from the ground up’. We are currently evaluating the potential of sourcing carbon that is found in the air (#CCU). Base Chemicals are the building blocks for the chemical industry and are used to manufacture the essential products used in our daily lives, such as the high performing tires on our cars. At #OMV, transition is the heart of our business. We’re reinventing essentials for more sustainable living. Leading the way to renewable and circular chemicals and materials that make sustainable life possible. We’re here to solve, to supply and speed up real circular change.
