Navigating self-blame, or what I call toxic accountability, often does more harm than good. Instead of perpetually blaming ourselves, mUnderstanding how our behaviors stem from coping mechanisms shaped by our environment to help us feel safe even though self destructive allows us to forgive ourselves. Realizing that many negative habits are automatic responses from our nervous system, influenced by surroundings, enables a deeper self-understanding. Real change starts when you start to forgive yourself and actively work on replacing the self destructive habits holding you back💙 #SelfReflection #ForgiveYourself #accountability

Often, we're our own worst critic..❌ And when we're overwhelmed with anxiety, overly stressed or feeling frustrated, we talk to ourselves far more harshly than we'd ever let someone speak to us. We wrongly assume that criticism will motivate us to do better.. ➡️ Self-compassion allows us to better manage our feelings and emotions, along with the existential angst and unhappiness that bubbles up from time to time. People who have greater levels of self-compassion tend to be more motivated, have more energy, and more successful over time.
