Winner of a Danish Design Award 2024: Living Places Copenhagen 🏡 It’s time to rethink buildings. With buildings responsible for 40% of global energy use and CO2 emissions, the need for sustainable, healthy homes is urgent 🌬️ Living Places Copenhagen showcases innovative construction tackling climate and health challenges through 'Living Places' prototypes, featuring low CO2 footprint, first-class indoor climates, and competitive pricing. The concept leads the way in Denmark with the lowest CO2 emissions, proving that we don't have to wait for future technologies to build sustainably today 🍃 The Jury says 🗣️ “Living Places Copenhagen moves beyond mere ideas and turns ambitious goals into reality. Not only does it focus on impact with its extremely low carbon emissions of 3,85 kilograms per square meter per year. It is a vision of how we can build and live together in the future and foster communities while retaining our individuality and improving human health. This design solution is a vision of how we can build for people and the planet at the same time.” Congratulations with the award, VELUX and EFFEKT! ✨ The Danish Design Award is a collaboration between DDC – Danish Design Center and Design denmark. Happy World Environment Day! As architects, we have a unique responsibility that goes beyond aesthetics. We shape the spaces where lives unfold. This year, I'm energized by the potential of sustainable design. It's not just about minimizing our environmental impact, but creating inspiring spaces that resonate with nature. But sustainability extends beyond function. Locally sourced, recycled, or rapidly renewable materials minimize emissions while creating unique aesthetics. Buildings become reflections of their environment, fostering a deeper connection with the local landscape. What excites you most about sustainable design? Share your thoughts! Let's push the boundaries of green architecture together. We can create spaces that inspire not just human connection, but a deeper connection with our planet. #SustainableArchitecture #BuiltGreen #aedium #designingresponsibily #togetherwecan #worldenvironmentday

Beyond providing relief from the heat, the crochet canopies in Spain are an inspiring example of sustainable design. This idea blends creativity and science: the canopies' structure allows air to flow while blocking direct sunlight, improving thermal comfort. But there’s more — they also help reduce energy consumption in nearby areas by lowering the need for air conditioning! This solution combines tradition, modernity, and positive environmental impact. 💌DM for video credits. 🌞 #Sustainability #CreativeCrochet #InnovativeDesign #ArtWithImpact #SustainableIdeas

🌍✨ Thank you, ECONYL® brand , for organising the enlightening talk “The New Paradigm of Design: Inclusivity and Environmental Sustainability”, on Wednesday 3rd of July. The session, led by Erica Anesi, provided profound insights into the importance of sustainable design and its integration with inclusivity. Some of my takeaways: 1. Debunking Myths: • Cost Efficiency: Sustainable products are not necessarily more expensive in the long run. They offer durability and cost savings over time. • Aesthetic Value: Sustainability does not mean sacrificing aesthetics. Thoughtful design can harmonise visual appeal with environmental consciousness. • Inclusivity: Sustainable design includes social and environmental responsibility, making our spaces more accessible and user-friendly. This session underscored how embracing a holistic approach to design benefits the environment and enhances social well-being and cost efficiency. Kudos to Econyl for fostering such vital discussions and driving forward-thinking design principles! 🌟👏 #Sustainability #Inclusivity #Design #EnvironmentalSustainability #Econyl
