Are we the scoreboard or are we on the field helping the team win the game? Saturdays in the United States are big for American college football. When we're not taking our children to weekend activities, my family usually watches games on TV. When watching a game, all eyes are on the field and the scoreboard. The scoreboard is a data-intensive tool. The scoreboard tells you the state of the game: - What is the score? - How much time is left in the game? - Key statistics of the players/team. - The situation for the current play. Despite all eyes on the scoreboard and its importance, the scoreboard does not impact the game's results. You may have the best-in-class scoreboard with the latest technology and functionality, but it does not impact the game's results. The players, coaches, assistants, and game plan impact the game's results. So, is the data team merely reporting the game's score, or are we on the field or sidelines impacting the game's outcome?

Aaron Wilkerson I must say that you are blessed with the unique skill of explaining the most difficult topics with such simplicity and with examples that most can relate with!!!!! Dashboards and Scorecards are the direct results of actions performed on the field and also guide teams with actionable measures that would achieve the desired numbers on the scorecard!!! Just reporting Data Quality scorecards to your leadership won't solve your quality challenges 😃 !!!

Making sports stats look easy can be a tough task. 🤯 We recently tackled this challenge with a clean and simple approach to displaying soccer game collections: we even cut out halftime scores. 😱 It’s just the final score with the team names, and how they move in the standings. By integrating standings with results, we’ve removed the need for a separate standings element. It’s straightforward, efficient, and to the point. 📊⚽ For the stat nerds, every league’s website has plenty of detailed numbers. But for the rest of us, sometimes less is more. What do you think of this approach?
