Our industry is growing! 📈 👏 In 2023, the global market for textile recycling was valued at approximately $5.9B, with the market estimated to grow to $7.75B by 2032, according to EMR Business Solutions LLP (Expert Market Research). This growth is driven by an increasing number of collection options for textile waste, greater use of automation in textile recycling, the emergence of recycling-friendly clothing items, and more door-to-door pickup programs for old garments. In the EU, we use nearly 26kg of textiles per person per year. We also discard about 11kg of them. 87% of these used clothes go to incinerators or landfill - accounting for up to 10% of our carbon footprint.
