Your team effect keeping customers Here is a blog post on how dealerships can retain customers based on the information provided in the article: Keeping Customers Coming Back: 4 Research-Backed Tips for Dealerships In today's highly competitive automotive landscape, retaining loyal customers is crucial for the success of any dealership. A recent survey by DriveSure revealed some eye-opening insights on what it takes to keep customers satisfied and coming back. 1. Prioritize a Positive Customer Experience The data shows that a staggering 56% of customers might stop going to a dealership after a bad experience[6]. This underscores the vital role that dealership staff play in shaping the customer's perception. Ensuring your team provides a pleasant, personalized, and efficient experience at every touchpoint is essential. 2. Follow Up After Sales and Service The article highlights the importance of proactively reaching out to customers after a sale or service visit[6]. This demonstrates your commitment to their satisfaction and can help identify any issues or concerns early on. Regular check-ins can go a long way in building long-term loyalty. 3. Leverage Customer Feedback Collecting and acting on customer feedback is crucial for understanding their evolving needs and preferences[6]. Implementing a system to gather insights, whether through surveys, reviews, or direct conversations, can help you make data-driven decisions to enhance the customer experience. 4. Maintain Consistently High-Quality Service Customers expect a seamless, high-quality experience across all aspects of the dealership, from sales to service[6]. Ensuring your team delivers exceptional service, from the first interaction to the final touchpoint, can help solidify your reputation and keep customers coming back. By focusing on these four research-backed strategies, dealerships can cultivate a loyal customer base and stay ahead of the competition. Is the customer experience getting worse despite companies trying to improve customer service? Do you as a customer find it is getting worse these days? The other day I spent 1 hour 15 minutes on a live chat to a human at Eventbrite for what should have been no more than a 15 minute conversation on the phone. They suspended my account which meant I couldn't log in, in the event of a customer issue they advise you log in to your account and contact support, yet I couldn't log in to my account because they had suspended it. Today the Zoom BOT tells me it doesn't understand my question, so it gave me two options, none of which were right, but I tried to follow them in case they resolved my issue, but they didn't. The other week I had a car in limp mode with a DPF issue and was told by a main dealer they could fit me in in two weeks time. Another main dealer wanted to charge me £250 for a diagnostic check and they would fit me in within a week. I found a DPF specialist who fitted me in the following day, and charged me £220 to clean the DPF in situ, he gave me a full diagnostic check of the associated components to make sure a clean was the only issue, and showed me all the readings of before and after. I have spent many hours in meetings where we were told that we need to create new campaigns to attract older vehicles in to the workshops, to make it a better proposition for customers to stick with a main dealer after the manufacturers warranty has expired. Sell service plans to lock customers in to the brand ( I bought a service plan for a Mercedes and was glad I did). Offer a reduced labour rate to compete with the independents for older cars. Maybe, just maybe, the industry needs to start thinking from the customers perspective instead of from a business perspective? Because it seems to me that the more companies try to improve their customer service, the worse the customer experience becomes. Discuss........... P.S. I am just going to put this out there, a lot (not all) of Service Advisors are not main dealer customers and so do not understand how the customer feels when they tell a customer they can't fit them in for two weeks because that is what the computer says.
