What do you do if your organisation seems to be lagging in the AI race? Accelerate or pause? Last couple of years has left enterprise business and tech leaders completely in awe of the potential AI offers yet we don’t see as many real life implementations. Even those who seem to be doing better are really applying AI to improve solutions that already existed like chat support , summarisation, etc. Why? It seems to be a race against time to show the world that you are doing it rather than truly assessing your business need, readiness and what your customers want. The result, most AI projects do not go beyond the pilot stage. This trend is not being helped by announcements around the great AI advance being made by tech companies. As an enterprise leader, its really time to have a hard look, to rethink your strategy, readiness and most importantly what you want to achieve with AI or without it. The question is not if AI has matured but has your enterprise. Are your teams acquainted with the developments? Do they know what to achieve with it? And do they understand the challenges and risks? As 2024 dawns to a close, it’s time to reflect on your AI method (or madness). Rethink your business strategy, customer goals, people readiness, technology foundations and investment goals. Identify real opportunities, build a business case, enable people & stakeholders, pick right partners and pick a promising but pragmatic path to outcomes (with or without AI). PAUSE!!
