You can add the loading="lazy" attribute to your <img> tags in HTML, which tells the browser to load the image only when it’s about to enter the viewport. This helps save bandwidth and improves page load times by delaying off-screen images until they’re actually needed. https://lnkd.in/dwNy8pd6

Doing an audit and found 790 bytes equals ~20s difference in Largest Contentful Paint. Yes, really. Basically, there's a spinner image that sometimes (~27% of page loads) triggers LCP because of the size it gets displayed at. When Chrome identifies it as the LCP candidate, it is a full _20 seconds slower_ than when the product image itself triggers LCP. Chrome tries to use image entropy (basically, bits per pixel) to eliminate non-content images from LCP contention (more on that here: https://lnkd.in/gHCQMua8). If the bits per pixel (bpp) is less than 0.05, it won't consider the image as an LCP candidate. I dropped the spinner image onto a simple little bpp calculator I built (https://lnkd.in/gMX9kX7K) and it came back as _exactly_ 0.05 bpp. I recompressed the image, taking it from 1.58kb to 790 bytes, and dropped the new image on the bpp calculator and it dropped to .03, below the treshold. Dropping that in the page completely eliminates it from LCP consideration, and just like that the LCP on the page gets a nice little boost. More to do to optimize on that page, but not bad for 790 bytes.

If you use the minimap, then you’re probably trying to quickly scan and navigate across large files. Chances are you’re also leaving comments to make it even easier for the eye. VS Code has introduced a new feature that allows you to place section headings so you can scan and navigate large files more easily.
VS Code: Minimap Section Headers

Any WCAG 2.2 experts in my network? I'm trying to figure out 1.4.4 level AA Is it enough if your page/platform can be zoomed in to 200% using the browser option. Or does it need to exist a zoom function on the page that only zooms in the text to 200% leaves layout and images as is? #accessibility
