🚨 Enhancing Mobile Security After Device Loss: A Potential Solution 💡 On September 14th, I lost my Vivo IQOO Z7 Pro 5G, despite having enabled advanced security features like "Unlock to shut down" and "Unlock to open control panel." Initially, I was able to track the device using Google's Find My Device, but within 15 minutes, I lost network and location tracking. I believe the SIM card was removed, rendering the phone untraceable. This situation highlights a gap in mobile security: preventing unauthorized SIM card removal. What if the SIM tray could only be ejected when the phone is unlocked—similar to pop-up cameras? Or if eSIMs became the norm, even in budget smartphones? This could prevent thieves from quickly disconnecting devices from the network and help ensure that the phone remains traceable. The core concern is data security.
