#Sesame #TinyMightySesame #FoodIngredients Looking forward to meeting industry participants in yet another interesting discussion on how will the Sesame world shape as we move forward into an excess supply situation & overdependence on China’s demand. Have the current price levels factored in all supply pressures or there is a further downside possible? At these prices how will the demand benefit to reduce a glut situation?

16th Annual Conference organized by BCICAI on 29th and 30th November 2024, themed New Age provided an amazing opportunity to listen and learn from the barrage of speakers while networking with fellow professionals and relishing tasty food. One Panelist talked about asking the Right question and that triggered a valid question from my learned friend Sthanumurthy Viswanathan "How do you know whether a question is the right one or not ?". We started deliberating on the sidelines. Any question that spurs up in one's mind, emanates from 3 aspects. The first aspect is the depth of knowledge possessed by the person asking the question. The second aspect that triggers a question is the depth of the knowledge possessed and shared by the person speaking or being asked the question. The third aspect is the context in which the discussion happens and the question arises. All these three dimensions decide the relevance of the question. But what will determine whether or not it is the right question or not? Our deliberation ended when we agreed that if that question results in either shedding light on a new dimension of the topic being discussed or triggers a new age thought that provides a solution to an existing problem. In essence, if that question enhances curiosity and paves way for new knowledge, then we can call it the right question. What in your opinion is the right question? Please share your views.

Hi, news from #AlertHub_CostAction We started thinking about the need for a knowledge platform to share the best practices for managing risk situations one year ago. A week ago, we started the COST action that we will use to develop the platform that could help make disaster/risk alert systems and communication more effective.
📣 We are AlertHub, one of the newest COST Action to be implemented between 2024 and 2028! 🌍 Being developed as an EU-funded research network (through COST Association - European Cooperation in Science and Technology) AlertHub aim is to foster cross-border exchange and collaboration focused on warning systems, risk and crisis communication and to address the current needs and challenges experienced in practice by a wide variety of stakeholders. This is exactly what IUFRO is about: to be a network in which scientists and experts from all over the world can meet and share their knowledge on a certain topic.
I'm currently attending the IUFRO - International Union of Forest Research Organizations Conference on Phytophthora in Forests and Natural Ecosystems here in Paihia, New Zealand. This has reinforced just how critical international relationships, collaborations and knowledge sharing are to enabling global and local improvements in forest health and biosecurity. The Forest Growers Levy Trust is proud to be co-sponsoring the conference. In supporting this event, New Zealand's forest growing sector has the valuable opportunity to learn from international experts' knowledge and management of Phytophthora, a plant pathogen which is having a devastating effect on forest health and natural ecosystems here and abroad.
