What is the future of Alzheimer’s clinical trials? The future science for Alzheimer’s disease will likely focus on combining different therapies to combat Alzheimer's from all angles. On the other hand, preventing brain health issues will become a priority. By making lifestyle changes and maintaining proper nutrition, we can prevent cognitive problems and chronic inflammation linked to Alzheimer’s. A study will be launched to evaluate how or if air pollution, depression, diabetes, hearing loss, hypertension and other factors are linked to dementia. A previous study found that people diagnosed with type 2 diabetes at a younger age have higher risks of developing dementia at age 70 or older. The AARP, Alzheimer’s Disease Data Initiative and the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington will "pool" resources and previous studies to further explore how several risk factors may lead to developing dementia including cigarette smoking, elevated blood sugar, exposure to air pollution, poor social engagement, stress, lack of exercise, poor nutrition, and lack of sleep.

A groundbreaking study has unveiled the profound impact of a healthy lifestyle on cognitive function in older adults, even in the presence of Alzheimer's pathology. 🔬💡 The research, combining longitudinal data and postmortem brain analysis, found a remarkable association between leading an active, balanced lifestyle and better cognitive abilities. 🏃♀️🥗🍷 Participants who exercised regularly, followed a nutrient-rich diet, engaged in cognitively stimulating activities, and maintained moderate alcohol consumption exhibited superior cognitive performance. 🧠💯 Remarkably, this positive relationship persisted even in individuals with Alzheimer's-related brain changes, suggesting that lifestyle factors may provide a powerful cognitive reserve. The findings highlight the multifaceted benefits of embracing a holistic approach to well-being, combining physical activity, mental stimulation, and mindful nutritional choices. 🌿🧘♀️ As we age, safeguarding our cognitive vitality becomes paramount. This study serves as a compelling reminder that our lifestyle choices today can profoundly shape our cognitive trajectory tomorrow. Harnessing the Power of Fasting for Longevity At London Longevity Clinic, we’re constantly exploring revolutionary ways to push the boundaries of healthy aging. One of the most promising cutting-edge approaches is intermittent fasting—a practice with profound effects on cellular repair, metabolic health, and longevity. The Science Behind Fasting Fasting isn’t just a buzzword; it’s rooted in groundbreaking research. Studies show that intermittent fasting triggers autophagy, the body’s natural cellular “clean-up” process, which removes damaged cells and supports regeneration. This process is essential in reducing inflammation, slowing aging, and protecting against diseases such as Alzheimer’s and cancer. Proven Longevity Benefits: *Metabolic Health: Fasting helps regulate insulin sensitivity, reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes and supporting weight management. *Cellular Repair: During fasting, your body prioritises cellular maintenance, removing debris that could accelerate aging. *Brain Health: Ketones produced during fasting enhance cognitive function and may delay neurodegenerative conditions. London longevity Clinic is an elite health management firm and was created with the idea of improving the inefficacies within the healthcare system around personal care. Our mission is to redefine aging globally, throughout all stages of life. Contact us today for more information about our treatments and being your journey to expanding your health span. #longevity #healthspan #intermittentfasting

🔔EVENT ALERT🔔 The UK National Innovation Centre for Ageing is proud to be partnering with Cognitive Frailty Interdisciplinary Network (CFIN) on this event (14th Oct 2024) We will be bringing a wide range of stakeholders together to facilitate new partnerships, exchange perspectives on cognitive frailty and stimulate new research ideas and solutions. 𝗖𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘁𝘆 describes the intersection of mild cognitive decline and physical frailty in older people that affects ability to perform everyday activities and is a risk state for falls, later dementia and need for care support. ❗It is an important condition because it is 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲, 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 and 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲, unlike dementia❗ As ever by sharing #AgeingIntelligence we aim to promote research and innovation to address health inequalities, improve health resilience, and increase health and quality of life in older age. This event is open to all including researchers, businesses and those with a personal interest or wanting to know more about the condition.
