Depending on where you are in the world, different approaches will allow you to succeed in different landscapes. ⏱ For me the most exciting, challenging, yet successful and rewarding, has to be the DACH region. Hiring GOOD SAAS sales professionals can be super tough here and I put it down to what it requires and what companies look for. It requires a nuanced approach that considers cultural, linguistic, and business-specific factors so I thought I’d share some considerations when looking to hire across DACH. 💯 💭 Cultural Sensitivity: Germans value professionalism, precision, and thoroughness. It’s vital that your communication is clear, well-structured, and professional. Respect for punctuality and adherence to deadlines is highly appreciated. 💭 Local Language: While many business professionals in Germany are proficient in English, having the ability to communicate in German can be a significant advantage. It demonstrates respect for the local language and culture. 💭 Understanding Compliance and Data Protection: Germany has stringent data protection laws (like GDPR), and businesses take these regulations seriously. Ensure that your SaaS product complies with local data protection requirements, and be prepared to address questions related to data security. 💭 Building Trust through Relationships: Relationship-building is a crucial aspect of sales in the German market. Establishing trust and credibility often takes time, and personal connections can be influential. 💭 Emphasis on Quality: German businesses often prioritise quality over price. Highlight the quality and reliability of your SaaS solution, as well as the long-term benefits it brings, rather than focusing solely on cost.
