DID YOU KNOW? 🚨 💡A prehospital clinical study published in the American Journal of Emergency Medicine has shown that intubation first-pass success (FPS) with the Vie Scope was essentially doubled compared to standard intubation methods. 💡Paramedics in Warsaw, Poland, during the COVID pandemic wave were evaluated. 💡Users of the Vie Scope had a FPS of 93.3% compared to 51.1% with the Macintosh laryngoscope. 💡Intubation time was cut in half from 97 to 49 seconds with the Vie Scope. 💡Dr. Nilesh R. Vasan emphasized the importance of achieving intubation FPS on the first attempt for patient outcomes. “We were surprised by the large performance gap between the Vie Scope, a bougie introducer and the Macintosh laryngoscope." Prof. Szarpak highlighted. As a result, this study demonstrates the Vie Scope's effectiveness, even in challenging circumstances, and highlights its potential to improve patient care in critical situations. 🏥 To read the full article, please see on this link: https://lnkd.in/gbjcZbgx #MedicalInnovation #HealthcareResearch

Education, transparecy, risks, benefits - this is how we revolutionize and transform old, rigid paradigms that are looking for how to better meet the needs of people that want to grow and reclaim some agency in their healthcare. #psychedelicmedicine
A very specific dream come true: the Psychedelic Medicine Association has a booth at the American College of Physicians annual conference! Our mission has always been to introduce mainstream clinicians to psychedelic medicine, and this is the hub of mainstream medicine: the nation's largest internal medicine conference. Took a lot to get here but I'm just so stoked. As the first doctor approached the booth, I asked her "Have your patients started asking you about psychedelics?" She said, "Yes! And I don't know what to tell them!" And that's why we exist:) (Also, the perfectionist in me feels the need to tell you I spent an hour steaming the tablecloth and this was as good as I could get it by the time the doors opened 😅)

October 10 marks a significant day in the field of medicine, as it commemorates several pivotal moments that have shaped healthcare and medical practices as we know them today. From groundbreaking discoveries to advancements in medical technology, this date serves as a reminder of how far the medical community has come. One of the key milestones celebrated on this date is the development of the stethoscope by René Laennec in the 19th century. This simple yet revolutionary instrument transformed the ability of physicians to diagnose and understand the sounds of the human body, particularly the heart and lungs. The stethoscope remains a fundamental tool in clinical practice, symbolizing the art of listening in medicine. Another significant event associated with October 10 is the first successful human-to-human blood transfusion, which took place in the early 20th century. This development was crucial in the management of blood loss during surgeries and trauma cases, ultimately saving countless lives. The understanding and refinement of blood transfusion techniques have continued to evolve, with modern advancements ensuring safer and more effective procedures. October 10 also marks the introduction of the World Mental Health Day, established in 1992 by the World Federation for Mental Health. This observance aims to raise awareness about mental health issues and promote efforts to support mental well-being globally. It highlights the importance of mental health as an integral part of overall health and encourages initiatives to improve mental health care access and reduce stigma. These milestones, along with many others, highlight the ongoing journey of innovation and dedication in the medical field. Each achievement not only pays homage to the past but also inspires future generations of healthcare professionals to continue pushing the boundaries of what is possible in medical science. #MedicalMilestones #InnovationInHealthcare #StethoscopeRevolution #BloodTransfusionHistory #WorldMentalHealthDay #HealthcareAdvancements
