Driving Agricultural Transformation in Tanzania By focusing on strategic growth in livestock, fisheries, and crops, the 25-year Agricultural Transformation Plan aims to build a strong agricultural framework that supports smallholder farmers and SMEs. Private sector involvement from the start is crucial, and organizing smallholder farmers into groups is a key step in providing better support. Elizabeth Missokia Director of ATO Tanzania emphasizes that a conducive policy environment and effective communication are vital for attracting private sector investment. With AATI’s support in developing the ATO Tanzania and the masterplan, we are committed to creating a roadmap for collaboration between governments, businesses, and MSMEs. Together, we can shape a thriving agricultural future. #AgriculturalTransformation #FoodSystems #PrivateSector #TanzaniaAgriculture #SmallholderFarmers #PublicPrivatePartnerships #AATI #PoultryFutures
Food Systems | Poultry Futures Forum 2024 "We’ve developed a 25-year Agricultural Transformation Plan that covers strategic growth in livestock, fisheries, and crops. Private sector involvement is essential from the start, and smallholder farmers, despite their scale, play a significant role. By organizing them into groups, we can better support them and SMEs to build a strong framework. However, these farmers need more support, and a conducive policy environment is crucial to attract private sector investment. Effective communication and coordination are key—how do we come together to create a roadmap for governments, businesses, and MSMEs?" - Elizabeth Misyoka, Director, ATO Tanzania #PoultryFutures #YouthInAgriculture #FoodSecurity #AGRAImpact #FoodSystems
