This recent Waste360 article on the importance of a reuse-focused strategy in IT sustainability sheds light on a pressing issue: the growing e-waste problem and how innovation and outdated policies are accelerating it. Transitioning from a disposable to a sustainable mindset in IT can have a transformative impact on our planet, and it's a call to action for businesses to rethink their approach to electronic waste. The push for IT sustainability through secure recycling and donating functional assets is about more than advancing sustainability and curbing e-waste —it's about creating equitable opportunities for all in local communities. #sustainableIT #circulareconomy #techforgood

I've seen a lot of great posts today, celebrating #EarthDay. Despite the negative things we see day-in, day-out, it's important to celebrate what we have accomplished. There's more to #sustainability than *just* recycling. Or *just* reuse. Or *just* reductions. It needs to be a new way to look at our shared world. Our relationships with the products we use - what, how, and why - become critically important. The amount of thought that goes into why we pick them at the beginning of their useful life also needs to be given at their end. Together let's find a way to make a difference today, in each of our little corners. #PulseSCS #ReduceReuseRepairRecycle #thereisnoplanetB
Happy Earth Day! As business leaders, it's crucial to recognize the environmental and economical impact of electronic waste (e-waste) and the opportunities it presents for your organization. E-waste is the fastest-growing waste stream globally, with over 50 million metric tons generated annually. This issue demands our immediate attention and action. Here are some key insights to consider: - E-waste represents a significant environmental challenge, but it also presents a business opportunity. By implementing sustainable practices, your company can contribute to a greener future while gaining a competitive edge. - Recycling e-waste is not only an ethical choice but also a smart business decision. It reduces your organization's carbon footprint, mitigates the risk of regulatory non-compliance, and enhances your brand reputation as a responsible corporate citizen. - Recycling electronics is not just about reducing landfill waste; it's about embracing the circular economy. The circular economy approach aims to minimize waste, maximize resource efficiency, and create a closed-loop system where products and materials are recycled and reused, reducing the need for virgin resources. By participating in the circular economy, your business can tap into new revenue streams and foster innovation. On this Earth Day, let's make a commitment to prioritize e-waste management in our businesses. Implementing proper disposal and recycling programs, partnering with certified e-waste recyclers, and educating employees about responsible electronics usage are essential steps towards a more sustainable future. By embracing the principles of the circular economy, your company can go beyond traditional recycling and explore innovative ways to create value from e-waste. This can include initiatives such as refurbishing and reselling used electronics, designing products with recyclability in mind, or establishing partnerships with other organizations to share resources and reduce waste collectively. #CircularEconomy #SustainableBusinessPractices #EarthDay #PulseSupplyChainSolutions #EWasteRecycling #SustainableFuture #ReduceReuseRecycle

♻ Today is #globalrecyclingday , encouraging people to think resource, not waste, when it comes to the goods around us – until this happens, we simply won’t award recycled goods the true value and repurpose they deserve. In the future, when we have #circulareconomy in full swing, we can better prevent waste and pollution from being created in the first place. But unfortunately we are not there yet, so recycling is also a key way to save resources and energy. Our #beyondcircularity program also focuses on recycling technology development across several areas. I work with #textilerecycling at the moment, but you can also read more about the other areas below 👇 #sustainability #mywork

Unlocking IT Sustainability Through Reuse ♻ Dive into the importance of a reuse-focused strategy in driving IT sustainability. ➡ Embracing a reuse-focused strategy ➡ Reducing waste and environmental impact ➡ Promoting a circular economy The benefit with circular IT is that it is simple. Use longer, repair and use more and buy quality when buying. If we cannot create a more circular system with todays products it will be difficult even if they are better designed. We need to tackle consumer behaviour and create circular business models that make it easier and cheaper being circular rather than linear. #ITsustainability #CircularEconomy #ReuseStrategy
