Serving is what I do. I search for opportunities and organizations that allow me to be involved in every way possible. Since I have a tremendous passion for children and a heart to help, I didn’t blink an eye when I met John Widrick, Director of the Bridge House, and heard about their mission. Even the process of forms, background checks and meetings to be approved for the in-house care team didn’t scare me. My desire to help those in need supersedes any frustrations of red tape. This ministry is more than just checking an internal “volunteer” box or getting that tax write-off for a donation; this is about changing a life.” For Amber Graves, you’ll find her diving in wherever there’s a need: giving her time to volunteer at the house, provide a huge platter of enchiladas through the meal train, even being part of the event planning team and connecting others to The Bridge House, encouraging them to take up the giving baton. “I’m going to get my kids involved, so they can experience with me what a true servant’s heart is and the impact it makes on the world around. It’s easy to give money, but when you realize these kids don’t have a home and your humble home-cooked meal means the world to them, it empowers you to go the extra mile. Because these kids need YOU!” Ready to make a change? There is no better way to commence the weekend than by engaging in community service alongside family. This shared experience not only strengthens our bonds but also instills a sense of purpose and responsibility in each of us. A modest effort in cleaning, sorting, and reorganizing donations for a local thrift store can have a profound impact on our community. Also prepared items for donation to developing countries, we contribute to a larger mission of global support and solidarity. These donations can provide essential resources to those in need, helping to improve their quality of life and offering them opportunities they might not otherwise have. In this way, our small actions can create ripples of change, fostering a sense of community both locally and globally. Engaging in this type of service not only benefits those who receive the donations but also enriches our own lives, teaching us valuable lessons about empathy, gratitude, and the importance of giving back. As we kick off the weekend with this fulfilling activity, we set a positive tone for the days ahead, reminding ourselves of the power of collective action and the joy that comes from helping others. #family #volunteer #church #givingback #community #worldwide #civilserveant #giveback

These moments remind us of the importance of coming together and supporting each other. For many of these individuals, a hot meal is not something they can take for granted. It was a humbling experience to see how much this simple act of sharing supper meant to them.As it is written in the Bible, "Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God." — Hebrews 13:16.We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported us in this mission. Your donations and volunteer efforts make a significant difference. Together, we can continue to provide not only food but also hope and a sense of community to those in need.Let’s keep this spirit of giving alive. Every little bit helps, and together, we can make a big difference.Thank you for being a part of this journey with us.#CommunitySupport #GivingBack #HelpingHands #SupperWithTheNeedy #KindnessMatters #FoodForAll #EndHunger #SupportTheNeedy #MakingADifference #CharityEvent #LoveInAction #FaithInAction #HopeForAll #ServeOthers #ActsOfKindness #HelpingOthers #TogetherWeCan #VolunteerWork #CommunityLove #ShareTheLove #FeedTheHungry #OrphanageSupport #ChildrensRights #HumanitarianAid #NonProfitWork #CharityWork #SupportingCommunities #LoveAndCompassion #FaithHopeLove #BibleVerse #Hebrews1316

While it is admirable to want to share our gratitude and good feelings with others, we rarely stop to think about what giving others our gratitude does for us. As it turns out, it does quite a lot for our brains and mental wellbeing: Emphasize the importance of spending quality time with loved ones and appreciating family connections Highlight the power of giving back to the community through volunteering or charitable acts. Reflect on times of difficulty and express gratitude for perseverance and strength. Join us on Thursday at 6:30 PM #bigdtoastmasters #toastmasters #publicspeaking #leadershipskills

Better Decisions Counseling needs donations for its new transitional house. It does not have to be money. It can be furniture, especially bedroom and living room furniture, dishes, bathroom items, or whatever extra you have lying around your house. Even clothing or shoes. Bring the donations to the office of Better Decisions Counseling located at 10366 Rockingham Drive, Sacramento, CA 95827. You can also call (916)368-0700 if you know someone who needs help from Better Decisions Counseling with counseling. The house will be a 12-bed transitional house for individuals or couples getting a second chance at life and a helping hand back into normal society. People who were once homeless addicts especially those who were justice-involved, could use your help as mentors. #donate #volunteer #love #helpingothers #homelesspeople #helpthehomeless #help #support #givebacktothecommunity #housing #HopeAndHealing #mentalhealth #homelessoutreach #socialjustice #homelessawareness #street #homelessshelter #hunger

Let’s make some memories and get Homeless Street Angels back on the Road 🙏 For years, the Homeless Street Angels have been a lifeline for those experiencing homelessness, providing food, clothing, and support on the streets of Leeds. Their ford transit van was not just a vehicle—it was hope on wheels, bringing comfort to those in desperate need. ❤️ But now, that hope is parked indefinitely. The van is out of commission, and the streets are colder without the Angels’ vital support. 💔 We Need Your Help 💔 Link below 👇 please give what you can 🙏 If we can come together as a LinkedIn community, we can get the Angels back on the road where they belong. Whether it’s a donation, a connection to someone who can provide a van, or even spreading this message to your networks—every action matters. 🙏 Let’s show that the power of LinkedIn extends far beyond business, and into the heart of our communities. If you or your company has a ford transit van, or if you know of anyone who can help, please get in touch. Together, we can keep hope alive for those who need it most. #HomelessStreetAngels #CommunitySupport #LinkedInForGood #DonateNow #MakeADifference Becky Joyce Shelley Joyce Juliette Booth Redline Specialist Cars

For the sixth consecutive year I am fundraising for Hutt St Centre's Walk a Mile in my Boots campaign. August is one of my favourite times of year, not just because I get to wear my favourite colour every day of #NationalHomelessnessWeek, but also because I am able to use my skills in #socialmediacontentcreation and #storytelling to give back to my community. There is a lot to be said about the benefits of #volunteering and #fundraising, not just for how it impacts the people who rely on the cause you’re supporting, but also for personal wellbeing. 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝘀 𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗽𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀: 1. 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴: Connecting with my community online and in person, having conversations and meeting people with aligned values helps me feel like I belong to something bigger than myself. 2. 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆: Actively supporting a cause that is important to me reminds me that I have the power to shape the world I want to live in. 3. 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵: Watching the total miles and donations gradually build over the week helps to sustain gratification and motivate progress towards my goals. 4. 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲: Supporting my community brings so much meaning into my life and allows me to live in line with my values. Participating in Walk a Mile in my Boots also fosters my wellbeing by encouraging me to move my body, spend more time in nature and practice gratitude and reflection. When I'm giving back I feel more motivated, hopeful and generally have an elevated mood. 🧡 Hutt St Centre provides essential services for people at risk of or experiencing homelessness in South Australia. If we’ve learned anything the past few years, it’s that our circumstances can change in the blink of an eye, and we rely on the communities around us for support through hard times. This week I am walking a mile every day, and adding a mile to this target for every $100 I raise. If you would like to support my fundraiser you can donate to my page here: https://lnkd.in/g8sHMkHf #walkamile #psychologicalneeds
