Good morning, and Happy Halloween everyone. The McClay's team wants to wish everyone a fun and safe day today! Everyone in the office was talking about how they can't wait to see all the kids costumes tonight coming up to the doors trick or treating... Some SAFETY driving tips for this Halloween: * Slow Down: More activity on the streets, reduced speed can prevent a scary situation. * Avoid Subdivisions: Especially between 6-9pm. * Watch for parked cars: Cars parked on the street can block your view of children. * Turn on headlights earlier: Even before dusk, so it makes it easier for pedestrians to see you. * Use extra patience at stops: Crosswalks, stop lights, stop signs, yields. * Plan for a longer trip: Traffic will be moving slower so plan ahead and don't rush. * Don't drink & drive: This applies to any night, always use a designated driver, use a rideshare or call a taxi. #mcclaystransportation #mcclaysdifference #Halloween #HalloweenSafety #drivesafe #beaware #SafeRideHome #costume #candy #familytime #spookyseason #noraisins

Halloween is a time of wonderment and excitement for children. As it is the season of trick or treating, drivers need to remember that children may not have road safety as their main focus on Halloween. Here are a few ideas to ensure that everyone has a safe Halloween: · Children may not have a clear view of traffic due to masks or costumes so always yield to pedestrians. · Reduce your speed in residential areas to allow yourself extra time to stop if a child darts onto the roadway. · When driving around parked cars, be mindful as cars can block your view. Use ground viewing habits to look for feet and shadows. · Turn on your full headlighting system earlier in order to easily see pedestrians even if it is light out. · Plan for extra travel time if you are going out on Halloween as the roads might be slower than usual. · Scan from house to house to be aware of any excited children running from one side of the street to the other. · To minimize the possible risk of interaction with children trick or treating, avoid side streets and use major roads, if possible. It is important to remember that children will be focused on trick and treating and not the cars on the roadways. Please remember to drive cautiously and watch out for the little ghosts and goblins. Stay safe out there! #DriveSlowForHalloween #SafeHalloweenDriving #ReduceSpeedForSafety #BeCautiousOnHalloween #HalloweenSafetyFirst #CanadianProDrivers

Halloween is just around the corner, and while it's a fun time for everyone, it can be a little spooky for truck drivers. To avoid any frightful encounters, steer clear of these Halloween hotspots: 👻 School Zones: Kids are more likely to be trick-or-treating in these areas. 👻 Parks: Halloween parties and events often take place in parks. 👻 Neighborhoods: Small streets can be filled with trick-or-treaters. Remember, even if you can't avoid these areas, slow down and keep your eyes peeled. 🎃 And most importantly, drive safe! #HalloweenSafety #DriveSafe #TruckDriverTips #StayAlert #TrickOrTreatSafety #TruckersOnTheRoad #HalloweenHotspots #SlowDown #SafetyFirst #TruckingLife #1stPlatinumFreight #SafeDriving #WatchForKids #HalloweenAwareness #TruckDriverCommunity

It’s Halloween, a night that is sure to be filled with plenty of fun, loads of laughs and endless amounts of treats. Whether you’re taking the kids trick-or-treating or have somewhere fun to be yourself, 𝙬𝙚 𝙪𝙧𝙜𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙚𝙭𝙩𝙧𝙖 𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙤𝙖𝙙𝙨 𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩! Here are a few friendly reminders to ensure the kids of the North Okanagan and beyond have a safe night; Slow down – drive well below the speed limit to be prepared in case something, or someone darts onto the road. Don’t pass stopped vehicles without extra caution – drivers may be dropping children off When pulling into or backing out of driveways look all ways, and be sure other drivers are aware of your movements. Ensure your headlights are on, and yes, your signal will be extra important tonight. Unless your children are participating in Halloween, consider avoiding driving in subdivisions during the hours of 5pm to 9pm, when most trick-or-treating takes place. Leave extra time to get to where you need to be if you are heading out. Don’t use your cell phone while driving – and pay extra attention to the activity around you. Be extra conscious of sidewalks and crosswalks, as well as those moving between parked cars. Keep your sound down on your radio too. 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝗮 𝗳𝘂𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗹. Here are some safe driving tips for Halloween. 🎃 Drive slowly in residential areas – Kids are out trick-or-treating, and many might run into the street unexpectedly. Keep your speed low and be extra cautious. Stay alert for pedestrians – Children and parents will be walking, often in dark costumes. Watch for kids crossing the street and be especially careful around intersections and driveways. Use headlights early – Even if it’s not dark yet, turn on your headlights to improve visibility for pedestrians and other drivers. Avoid distractions – Don’t use your phone or get distracted by anything inside the car. You need to be extra focused on your surroundings during Halloween. Watch for kids in dark costumes – Some costumes are difficult to see, so be vigilant for kids who might be harder to spot in the evening. Yield to pedestrians – If kids are crossing, always give them the right of way, even if they’re not at a crosswalk. Be mindful of driveways and alleys – When pulling out of driveways or alleys, do so slowly and carefully to ensure there are no trick-or-treaters in the path. Avoid alcohol – If you attend Halloween parties, avoid drinking if you plan to drive. Always designate a sober driver or use a rideshare service. Staying extra cautious during this festive night helps ensure a safe and enjoyable time for everyone! #happyhalloween #linkupwithus 🛣️
