Halloween is the perfect time for this message. Tonight masks are visible and it's all fun. Tomorrow, well that's a different story 👇 Parents - this is especially important for you to soak in. You know what I'm about to say. How you feel like you have to be someone else at work, home, in front of friends, strangers and maybe even your kids, etc. You're putting on different masks all day and it's exhausting. You hold back your true personality out of fear you won't be accepted or you're not "professional enough". That's not a fun life to live is it? (Don't worry you're not alone I've been there too). I never want my kids to feel like they have to be someone else. That's why I always remind them I love them for who they are. I stop them randomly and say things like, "Thanks for being you. Don't ever stop that. I love you". Then, I've got to model what it looks like to be yourself all day every day. I've surrounded myself with friends who I can be myself with and married a partner who I've never had to act differently around. I've built teams and empowered them to be them, not a corporate robot. I joined a company that's super rad and inclusive. The list goes on. Take a moment today and evaluate your life. Where do you feel you're being held back and not able to be yourself? Pick 1 area, dip your toe in the water of being the real you. You'll find out it's not that scary, people still think you're awesome and you're start attracting more people in your life you vibe with. Best of all, you'll lead by example for your kids. I'll leave you with a saying I made up: You be you, you do you, all day every day. Don't ever stop being you." ✌ PS - I found this kindness rock on a bench at the park yesterday. It rocks.

7 random things I've been thinking about this week, if you're into that sorta thing (217 words): 1.) I love the way running makes me feel but not enough to do it more than once a week. 2.) How long has the “It’s giving me _______” saying been a thing? As in, when did we decide to drop the word 'vibes' from the sentence? Is this a new TikTok thing? Because it makes me want to vomit. “It’s giving me Taylor circa 2007” has a vastly different tone than “It’s giving me Taylor circa 2007 vibes.” 3.) My criteria for a good ‘random things’ post: did I lose a follower within one hour of posting? If no, then it’s not a good post. 4.) I miss landlines. 5.) What’s everybody’s favorite line from the Drake and K Dot beef? Mine's gotta be that Kendrick one about Tommy Hilfiger and FUBU. (Great to have a real rap beef again. Kendrick is bodying.) 6.) Just to make sure we’re all on the same page—May is the best month of the year, right? 7.) Why are birds so loud in the morning? And what are they saying to each other? That's it for this week.
