With a mission to ensure no food goes to waste while no person goes hungry, FoodPilot operates through an efficient and user-friendly platform where donors can register and schedule pickups or drop-offs of excess food. The NGO emphasizes food safety, ensuring all donations meet quality standards and are handled with care. Key features of FoodPilot include: 1. **Seamless Donations:** Easy-to-use app or website for donors to contribute excess food. 2. **Real-Time Tracking:** Monitors donations from pickup to delivery for transparency. 3. **Volunteer Network:** Mobilizes volunteers for food collection and distribution. 4. **Awareness Campaigns:** Educates the community about reducing food waste and supporting the needy. FoodPilot envisions a world where food surplus turns into food security, fostering compassion and sustainability in communities.

What Are Food Recovery Organizations (FROs)? Food recovery groups are like hidden helpers in the battle against hunger and wasted food. They work hard to gather extra food from places like grocery stores, restaurants, and other sources, and then give it to people who require it. By saving good food that would otherwise be thrown away, they help fight hunger and also lessen the harm to the environment caused by wasted food. These groups are very important for making communities stronger and more sustainable. They bring together businesses, charities, and volunteers to create a support system that helps everyone. How Can You Help Food Recovery Groups? 1. Give money: Support them by giving money to cover their expenses and reach more people.     2. Help out: Volunteer by sorting food, packing boxes, or delivering meals to those who need them.     3. Share their message: Post about their work on social media and encourage others to join in.     4. Reduce food waste at home: Plan your meals, store food correctly, and compost leftover food. Did you know that 33% of all food produced globally is lost or wasted every year, and that 8% of all greenhouse gas emissions each year are due to food loss and waste? 👎 To combat food waste, we've joined WRAP's Courtauld Commitment 2030 initiative to reduce waste and emissions by one-fifth. We're working closely with WRAP to cut waste throughout our supply chain and in the home. At Quorn, we started to collect food waste data in 2019. By the end of 2023, we achieved a 32% reduction of food waste and all our food waste is now sent to anaerobic digestion to make renewable energy! We have also worked with likeminded partners such as FoodCycle, FareShare UK, and The Bread and Butter Thing to combat food waste and support communities. #sustainability #foodwaste
