We're thrilled to announce the launch of our #SuicidePrevention campaign for 2024: The Songs Within Us. This initiative aims to harness the power of music and fandom to promote mental health awareness, offer support, and create a safe space for young people. Music has the unique ability to connect us on a deep emotional level. Through our campaign, we're tapping into this power to reach individuals who may be struggling and offer them a sense of belonging. By creating a platform where fans can share their experiences, connect with others, and find inspiration, we're breaking down barriers and fostering a more supportive community. By being a part of The Songs Within Us, you can: → Spread awareness: Share our campaign on social media and encourage others to get involved. → Offer support: Participate in online discussions, offer words of encouragement, and create content that promotes mental health. → Create a safe space: Help to build a community where everyone feels welcome and accepted. Together, we can make a difference. Let's break down stigma, foster understanding, and empower individuals to seek help. Mental Health Awareness Week 2024 is here, and this year's theme is "Movement: Moving more for our mental health". We're diving into the powerful connection between physical activity and mental well-being. This is crucial for everyone, but especially significant for our Black community. Did you know that only 19.5% of Black adults meet the physical activity guidelines? This statistic highlights a concerning disparity in access to physical health resources. However, engaging in regular exercise can be a transformative tool in combating mental health challenges. At Black Pharma, we believe in breaking barriers and promoting holistic health for all. Let's use this week to amplify the importance of movement in nurturing our mental health. Whether it's a run in the park, a yoga session or just walking into the office from the station rather than taking that last bus, every step counts towards a healthier mind. Together, let's strive for inclusive wellness and support each other on our journey to better mental health! 💪🏾 #BlackPharma #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #MoveForMentalHealth #DiversityAndInclusion

When was the last time you pretended to be someone or do something just for the joy of it? As adults, we often forget the power of imagination and play. Yet, reconnecting with our inner child can be a profound tool for self-understanding and mental health. As a playful person, I often visit my inner child and let my imagination run wild. Recently, I took a moment to fully embrace this playful side. I allowed myself to pretend, to dream, and to play without judgment. This simple act of imagination opened doors to deeper self-awareness and healing. It reminded me of the importance of nurturing our playful side, which often gets buried under the weight of adult responsibilities. Engaging with our inner child can help us: Unlock Creativity: Imagination fuels innovation and problem-solving. Heal Past Wounds: Addressing childhood experiences can bring closure and peace. Enhance Emotional Well-being: Play and creativity reduce stress and increase joy. I encourage you to take a moment today to connect with your inner child. Pretend, play, and let your imagination run wild. You might be surprised at the insights and healing that follow. #MentalHealth #InnerChild #SelfAwareness #Healing #Wellness #Therapy

Healthy Churches 2030 Virtual Conference – Day 2 Highlights We are deeply grateful to the speakers who made The Good, the Bad & the Ugly: The Truth About Living with Serious Mental Illness a powerful and transformative session: Pamela Price, RN Rwenshaun Miller Dr. Ayo Marie Johnson Victor Armstrong, MSW Kenny Lewis This symposium shed light on the realities of living with serious mental illness and the importance of communication, awareness, and compassion. Through the voices of advocates, clinicians, and those with lived experiences, we’re breaking the stigma and equipping families and communities with the tools to better understand and support mental health. Stay tuned for more workshop updates through Wednesday as we continue these critical conversations! Breaking the Silence on many topics a few included: 🗣️ “We find the right people, places, and spaces to actually talk.” It’s time to have real conversations that break down barriers and bring us closer together. 💡 We’re all in this together. Nothing happens in a silo—everyone is going through something, and that shared understanding is where healing begins. ❌ Stigma starts when we try to make sense of the world around us in harmful ways. Let’s change the narrative on mental health and create a story where stigma no longer defines our reality. 📢 Resources belong in the community. It’s not just about raising awareness; it’s about bringing the tools and support directly to the people who need them. 💬 Black men need therapy that speaks to their experiences—healing that acknowledges what it means to be a Black man in America. Let’s demand spaces that see and understand the whole person. Together, we’re breaking the stigma and changing the narrative about mental health in the Black community. #MentalHealthMatters #BreakingStigma #HC2030 #HealthEquity #TheBalmInGilead

I talk to Austin every time I travel home. I live in a small town in Mid Michigan. I drive through the same town, Over the same bridge, Past the same high school. Except now something is different. My brother’s picture is hung up on the shed outside the tennis courts. It hangs there next to two other boys our town lost too soon. Austin was on the high school tennis team. The year before he passed, we cheered him on at states. Austin had responsibilities. Austin had hobbies. He had freedom. He had a car. And a cat. Austin’s story highlights the complexity of mental health. It highlights the silent suffering men go through. There was nothing else I could have done Or was there? I could have valued mental health more I could have led with vulnerability I could have educated myself on the struggles men go through But the coulda/shoulda/woulda statements are not helpful for me However, they can be helpful for you. It’s not too late To value mental health. To lead with vulnerability. To educate yourself on men’s struggles. So that you do not have to think about the coulda/woulda/shoulda statements. I have put everything I am learning into a free email course. It’s not too late to sign up. Simply go to mensmentalhealthguide.com I will continue traveling home. I will continue talking to Austin. I will continue to tell him about the work I am doing. About the lives he is saving. --------------------------------------------------------- Hello, I'm Ethan Getchell. I'm building a practice that champions men's mental health. Join me on this journey! #098

This November, as Movember campaigns once again for men's health issues, I am proud to share that I am one of the privileged clinicians to be given early access to the Men in Mind training program developed by Movember. This incredible initiative focuses on equipping mental health professionals with the tools and insights needed to provide the best possible support for men seeking mental health assistance. Men’s mental health and suicide prevention are areas I am particularly passionate about and I believe we all have a role to play in breaking down stigmas, addressing the role of masculinity in help-seeking and ensuring that men feel supported and understood. The Men in Mind program has been an eye-opening journey so far, offering practical strategies, opportunities for reflection and a deeper understanding of the unique challenges men face. If you're in the mental health field, I highly recommend registering your interest for the course at https://lnkd.in/dpGiT-er. Together, we can make a meaningful difference. Let’s continue to champion this important cause, not just in November, but every day of the year. #Movember #MensMentalHealth #MenInMind #LifelongLearning #MentalHealthMatters
