Essential Insight #3 Political leaders across Europe need to urgently convince their electorate - who are also taxpayers - that they need to get out of their comfort zone and contribute more to defense and security, given the current and foreseeable international situation which puts stagnating, overregulated, unambitious Europe at a clear disadvantage. By the way, European companies face similar challenges and increasing competitive disadvantages, so for them as well it's time to adapt and gear up their own business activities, but also to urge political leaders to create better economic and regulatory conditions for growth, innovation, investment and employment.

It's about refining regulations to improve them and ensuring they are well implemented. 📌 An excellent diagram of Western political cycles. 🔽 📓 This should be combined with Michael Roberts blogs' analysis: "However, if Europe’s economies continue to lose ground and European capital is increasingly squeezed by the global power battle between the US and China, that majority support for the EU idea may dissipate by the time of the next EU Assembly." 🔗 : https://lnkd.in/gih-2MkB
