This chart is demolishing for the journalism industry. And by the way, it also shows that the decline was already underway before social media were born so don't blame (just) social media, there is something else that could be done better. We know that data are a bit better for media in Europe... but the general trend reamins.

And here you have the nub of the matter in one chart! US trust in mass media has fallen to an all-time low. Can we ever rebuild it?

This article is worth a read if you don't have ADHD and would like to further your understanding. People generally don't believe I've got ADHD, because on paper, I've always done well in school. Even when I explain that I've "done well" as a consequence of maladaptive coping strategies I've developed in the absence of adequate understanding of myself, that leave me unable to function in other areas of my life and with long term health consequence as a result of the chronic stress I've dealt with. Even for some who do believe me, they still think the end goal is being fixed, pushing through it and overcoming it. The thing is, I spent 20 years pushing through it. I have burnt out many times as consequence of pushing through it too hard. If effort was the answer, I'd be cured by now - I've always given more than I had. It's very much instilled in the idea of being lazy. I have been called a "lazy piece of shit" more times than I care to count. Except I've never had the luxury of laziness. Laziness is not caring, it is guilt free; it is a choice. The difference between laziness and what occurs in ADHD, is that for me, it generally isn't a choice, it doesn't matter how much I care or guilt myself, sometimes the barrier for task initiation just requires more energy than I actually have and I get stuck. What has helped, however, is shifting my own perspective. When I understand it as executive dysfunction, and that I have a dysregulation disorder, my end goals are able to remain the same, but I can purposefully and to significant impact, change my approach. Accomodate myself. I don't feel broken when I can't follow advice that wasn't designed for me anymore. Over the last year, I've been examining some of the various aspects of my life that I struggle with as a result of not accomodating myself previously. Working out - what specifically I struggle with, why it is a struggle for me under the context of understanding my neurodivergence, and researching and planning ways of reducing the barriers and accomodating for the struggles I'm experiencing with it. It has been far more effective than what I've been doing without that knowledge for 20 years prior. My end goal is not and will never be being neurotypical. I might struggle with my neurodivergence, but a lot of that is as consequence of existing in a world rigidly designed for people whose brains work differently. There are also many upsides to my neurodivergence, that I'm better able to appreciate now I'm no longer as frequently in survival mode. I am incredibly creative, I am really good at problem identification and solving, I can pick up new skills to a half decent level quickly, I am able to be more compassionate and adaptable to others without judgement, etc. I don't share that I struggle because I'd like anyone to fix me. I just need patience and understanding, while I figure out how to adapt tasks so I'm working with my brain, rather than against it. That's all. 😊
Here’s the truth about why we can’t always do what is good for us. 👉 https://lnkd.in/ekhf_wtm

This should also concern all the business world! Look at the hard line Islamic countries, they are all 3rd world countries with the majority of their people economically poor! Their industrial base is archaic. As much as I would like to disagree with this meme can we?
