How to answer, "What are your Salary Expectations?" Many of you have asked me this. Develop a three part number even before you have that first conversation with a recruiter and hiring manager. This three part number should be your desired salary, your dream salary, and your deal breaker salary. Check out this short video to learn how to position two of these numbers. https://lnkd.in/enXnhFn8 p.s. your deal breaker number is something you keep in your back pocket! #salary #Careers #jobsearch #jobinterviews
Great advice on handling the salary expectations question. I like that you have the lowest number of the range as desired, not deal-breaker.
Love this approach, Dorothy! I think another cool angle is to consider the benefits package as part of your 'deal breaker' number. Sometimes perks like remote work options or extra vacation days can compensate for a slightly lower salary. Anyone else agree? 🤔
This is a great idea Dorothy Mashburn I mean these 3 numbers would surely help a lot of people 🙌
Very helpful
Thanks, Dorothy! The three-part salary tip is gold. Can’t wait to watch the video!

3moSuper advice Dorothy! I would add.....try not to put any number on the table - and let them talk first. They should be able to share the budgeted role. Given there are so many other elements to the comp package, we always want to make sure we talk wider than just the base.
