This age distribution chart of Olympic athletes is really intersting: • Oldest Sport: Equestrian • Oldest Athlete: 69 years old • Youngest Sport: Skateboarding • Youngest Athlete: 12 years old The most surprising fact (IMO) is that triathletes are the second oldest group, especially when you consider the age gap to swimming and cycling. IT STARTS HERE. Every great athlete, and every memorable journey in sport, begins with that first step, first push, or first throw. Inspired by the incredible athletes competing at the Paris Paralympics, we’ve launched our "It Starts Here" campaign to shine a light on those beginnings—whether at a local club or on the world stage. Imagine a world where young athletes cycle with the same enthusiasm as in the local parks, where the thrill of competition fuels a vibrant community. I started in bicycle racing when I was thirteen and played handball five times a week, too. Teenager energy is excellent, hey. Almost 35 years later, the same scene happens every year, and nearly all races: only a handful of juniors, literally, a few U17 and U19, and that's it. Racing bikes take much work to start and stay, financially and safety-wise. How can we improve that? I know it varies from place to place; how's the cycling scene where you live? . . . . #SportsBusiness #FanEngagement #CyclingTeams #SponsorshipChallenges #SportsMarketing #FutureOfCycling #AthleteBranding #SportsInnovation #BuildingFanbases

Transformation of the technique in just 4 months
Exciting Progress in Paralympian Swimmer's Technique Transformation in Just 4 Months! 🏊♂️ Witness remarkable changes in the swimming technique of our Paralympian swimmer. Despite no apparent improvement in the SWOLF metric, a closer look reveals a profound transformation. The right arm strokes have undergone a significant enhancement, showcasing a more refined stroke pattern with speed variations. The left arm strokes have also shown marked progress, with consistent maximum and minimum speeds, indicating a newfound rhythm. This enhanced rhythm is further evidenced by data demonstrating consistent stroke times and reduced deviation in Time-per-Stroke for both arms, reflecting a more purposeful approach to freestyle swimming. Noteworthy is the swimmer's growing trust in her right arm, highlighted through extensive testing aimed at addressing asymmetry issues. Various tests involving paddles and pull buoys have been conducted to compensate for physical imbalances and delve deeper into the root causes of this asymmetry. Moreover, this newfound rhythm has propelled the swimmer to meet the stringent #Paris2024 criterion for the 400m freestyle event, underscoring the tangible progress and dedication invested in this journey. myswiedge.com
