My experience in the General Surgery unit has given me a stark realization: breast cancer is more prevalent than I initially thought. Every Tuesday, our operation day, we would often have at least one breast cancer case. This firsthand exposure serves as a powerful reminder to prioritize: - Regular Self-Examination - Healthy Lifestyle Choices - Reduced Alcohol Consumption (especially for those with a family history or genetic predisposition) BREAST CANCER AFFECTS BOTH MEN AND WOMEN While rare in men, I've witnessed a case firsthand. It can happen to anyone. Don't Wait, Consult a Doctor if You Notice: - A lump on your breast, unrelated to hormonal changes - Persistent dull ache or sudden sharp breast pain - Nipple discharge (non-lactating) - Dimpling on the breast EARLY DETECTION SAVES LIVES Stay vigilant, prioritize your health, and encourage loved ones to do the same. #BreastCancerAwareness #PinkOctober #RegularSelfExamination #HealthyLifestyle #EarlyDetectionMatters #StayInformed

Today honors World Gynecologic Oncology Day – a time dedicated to raising awareness about gynecologic cancers and the importance of early detection, medical advancements in treatment, and support for those affected. Gynecologic cancers, including ovarian, cervical, uterine, and others, impact countless women across the globe each year. Given that many gynecologic surgeries, such as laparoscopic hysterectomies or myomectomies, are transitioning to outpatient procedures, identifying innovative pain management options to enhance the recovery process is crucial to ensure that women are returning home with minimal pain. #NonOpioid options can provide a safe and effective option for women while eliminating the risks associated with opioids, which is especially important considering that women are 40% more likely than men to become persistent opioid users when prescribed narcotics after surgery.
