Today honors World Gynecologic Oncology Day – a time dedicated to raising awareness about gynecologic cancers and the importance of early detection, medical advancements in treatment, and support for those affected. Gynecologic cancers, including ovarian, cervical, uterine, and others, impact countless women across the globe each year. Given that many gynecologic surgeries, such as laparoscopic hysterectomies or myomectomies, are transitioning to outpatient procedures, identifying innovative pain management options to enhance the recovery process is crucial to ensure that women are returning home with minimal pain. #NonOpioid options can provide a safe and effective option for women while eliminating the risks associated with opioids, which is especially important considering that women are 40% more likely than men to become persistent opioid users when prescribed narcotics after surgery.

It mainly affects middle-aged women, with an excellent prognosis. Different techniques are used to diagnose this type of tumor, while surgery remains the mainstay of the treatment. Purpose: Our aim is to increase awareness of such pancreatic tumors in young females, by highlighting surgical resection as the treatment of choice, and its possibility of recurrence which necessitates further guidelines for follow-up. #SolidPseudopapillaryTumor #FrantzTumor #PancreaticTumor #DistalPancreatectomy #AcutePancreatitis #AcutePancreatitisSymptoms #BiliaryDyskinesia #ChronicPancreatitis #GallBladderSymptoms #GallbladderDisease #GallstonePancreatitis #HereditaryPancreatitis #Peertechz #PeertechzPublications #OpenAccess #ScientificJournals #PeerReviewedJournals #OpenAccessPublishers #InflamedPancreas #PancreasAnatomy #PancreasPain #Pancreatectomy #PancreaticDisorder #PancreaticDuct #PancreaticEnzymeReplacementTherapy #Pancreatitis #PancreatitisSymptoms #ProtonTherapyPancreaticCancer #SwollenPancreas

𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐬- 𝐈𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞? An 82-Year-Old's Path to Recovery with Gentle Therapy The patient, an 82-year-old gentleman, came to us with a diagnosis of prostate cancer, a serious consideration given his age. Initially, he was presented with two standard options: surgery or observation. Understanding the need for a treatment that balanced effectiveness with his overall well-being, we introduced a third treatment option: radiation therapy combined with anti-androgen therapy. This approach is in line with NCCN guidelines and is particularly suitable for someone of his age as it avoids the risks associated with radical prostate surgery. After a detailed discussion of his options, the patient chose to proceed with the radiation and anti-androgen therapy. During his treatment, we closely monitored his progress and adjusted his therapy as needed to manage any side effects effectively. This personalized attention ensured that the treatment was both tolerable and effective. Over time, the patient experienced noticeable improvements, indicating that the treatment was successfully managing his cancer while maintaining his quality of life. Choosing radiation and anti-androgen therapy allowed the patient to avoid the potential complications of surgery and maintain control over his health decisions. This case highlights the importance of offering personalized and informed healthcare options, especially for older adults facing complex conditions. By adapting our approach to each patient’s unique circumstances, we help ensure optimal outcomes and enhance the quality of life for those we serve. Alvaro Arjona-Sánchez Vivekanand Sharma The overall survival in patients with high grade PMP is significantly lower compared to those with low grade PMP. Despite complete cytoreductive surgery, the disease could recur early. Most of these recurrences are asymptomatic. Selection of the right treatment strategy can be challenging considering that the recurrence is widespread in many cases. What is the best time to intervene and what should the initial treatment comprise of? What chemotherapy regimens are most suitable and should systemic therapy be given first? When should iterative CRS be performed and in which patients? #pmp #pseudomyxomaperitonei #HIPEC #CytoreductiveSurgery #raredisease European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO) European School of Peritoneal Surface Oncology (ESPSO) American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) ISSPP e.V. | International Society for the Study of Pleura and Peritoneum Santiago González-Moreno, MD, PhD, FACS, FESSO
