Did you know that #spirometry, a method used to measure #lung function, often includes built-in racial adjustments? These adjustments assume that Black and Asian patients naturally have lower lung volumes compared to other races, influencing diagnoses and treatment plans. This can lead to significant disparities in healthcare, such as underdiagnosis of conditions like COPD and reduced access to treatments like lung transplants for Black and Asian patients. Thankfully, in May 2023, the American Thoracic Society recommended a race-neutral approach to interpreting pulmonary function tests, ensuring more accurate results for everyone. Can we reset our health to pre-crisis vitality? In a recent discussion, Robert Masson MD, FACS FAANS shared valuable insights on spine health and the approach to surgical intervention. Dr. Masson challenges conventional practices by emphasizing a holistic, patient-centered methodology rather than focusing solely on diagnostic imaging like MRIs. He advocates for understanding the root cause of a patient’s spine health crisis—identifying triggers and not just symptoms. The goal, according to Dr. Masson, isn't to revert patients to their teenage physiological state but rather to restore them to their condition before the crisis. This involves the least invasive, most holistic, and fully recoverable methods to achieve total functionality. Furthermore, Dr. Masson encourages using the health crisis as an opportunity for patients to ascend to an even better level of wellness than before. Dr. Masson’s approach seeks to optimize surgical outcomes while also empowering patients to achieve sustained recovery and improved quality of life. Join the conversation on how innovative, patient-centered approaches can revolutionize spine health care. #SpineHealth #SurgicalInnovation #HealthcareLeadership #DrSinicropi #WellnessattheSpeedofLight #SpineSurgeron #People #metabolichealth #Healthcare

This study aimed to analyze the relationship of the respiratory functions, respiratory muscle strength, magnitude of the curvature, angle of trunk rotation and brace-wearing duration in patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. The results of this study showed that, respiratory functions were normal or mildly affected, and respiratory muscle strengths were weak in AIS. Increased Cobb angle and ATR negatively affected respiratory function; increased ATR was associated with decreased inspiratory and expiratory muscle strength. It is extremely important to carefully evaluate the respiratory system and to know the variables that affect respiratory functions and respiratory muscle strength in achieving optimum recovery in the holistic treatment of individuals with scoliosis. Lower back pain (LBP) is a prevalent issue worldwide, affecting nearly 80% of people at some point in their lives. As a healthcare professional, I’ve witnessed how debilitating this condition can be for my patients. Recently, I’ve introduced a powerful combination of manual therapy, Störz Medical Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT), and Magnetic Transduction Therapy (EMTT) in my practice. Studie show that ESWT significantly reduces pain and enhances mobility in patients with chronic LBP, especially when integrated with complementary therapies. Research by Zeng et al. (2023) demonstrates the effectiveness of this approach, highlighting new avenues for addressing one of the most widespread musculoskeletal issues https://lnkd.in/eQWwequz Nothing is more fulfilling than leveraging the latest science to improve patient outcomes. Proud to offer innovative, evidence-based care that makes a real difference! #PhysicalTherapy #Störzmedical #PhysioK #EMTT #ShockwaveTherapy #LowerBackPain #HealthcareInnovation #ManualTherapy #PatientCare
