THE EXPERIENCE OF THE SELF - CONFERENCE SPEECH https://lnkd.in/dFmCfxZP In this audio, I share my lecture at the International Psychosynthesis Conference in Italy 2024, where it was very well received. In it, I discuss the experience of the self; based on quotes by Assagioli and my own experiences. According to Assagioli, ”many intelligent psychologists have no idea of their self - they speak of personality, of ego as "a bundle of elements", but the point in the middle escapes them. It's amazing. The nucleus of reality of our being is not consciously recognized, not even on a personal level, let alone on a transpersonal level.” So, what is the self, and how can we experience it? I will discuss a distinction between the self as pure consciousness-force, a conscious observer and doer, and all the contents of awareness, including emotions, thoughts, and even superconscious experiences. And conclude with the four stages of I-consciousness. A bold effort to revive Henri Bergson by Emily Herring is very appreciated! But not actualized enough as its main reason IMHO ! The reason why Henri Bergson has to be revitalized again now is because the whole world now needs the intuition to natural change process in sustaining the future of humanity that does not yet exist since the beginning of westernized knowledge creation, in which would include the panpsychist paradigm which increasingly shifted onto, agreed upon and catching up by the scientific community. However, Henri Bergson, whom was the single source of fundamental shift in thinking of the last century had been misread by all his analytical-based intellectual suitors for misperceiving what Bergson meant by time & duration metaphysically. One of the reasons for this is you can't understand Bergson's train of intuition by means of academic endeavors, which prohibited from step out of the descriptive language of positivist, empirical and rational boundaries of materialistic isolation, of which all of Bergson's perception of intuitions are incompatible with and meant to levitate, if not radically revolutionized. Bergson's train of intuition could only be felt by living in it, entrepreneurially. His whole project about life force opens up a conscious living that perpetually requires humility and sympathetic feeling in seeing actualized change by voluntarily stepping into novelty by intuition. For Bergson, intuition is of time, duration and its memory is attentively heterogeneous and simultaneous in interpenetration. Both the past and future are not the successions of the presence but as a changing whole of constant renewal. This natural change process of creative evolution would vitalize humanity from the synthetic dialectics & dichotomies that have taken control of evolutionary narrative since the dawn of degrading human construct rather than natural becoming as way of living. #HenriBergson #Change #Intuition #evolution
